New Illy Advice

<p>So I started an illusionist recently and I was hoping to get a bit of advice from veterans of the class.  So far I'm really liking it.  My dps is competitive, my buffs are highly sought after, I keep my group topped off with power, and I find the gameplay highly compelling. </p><p>With that said, I do have one concern.  I tend to find it rather disheartening when I grow attached to playing a class and then the developers nerf it significantly, even if justified.</p><p>Is this a class that the devs tend to tinker with often?  Given how illusionists seem a touch on the powerful side at the moment, are we expecting any major nerfs?</p>

Ok.. so to be a little more constructive. A lot of players are quite upset at endgame with the illusionist class. That's why Daelog's coming back at you with all the sarcasim. I believe it is mostly due to their dps dropping off compared to their counterpart, the coercer. Illys still have good buffs and power management at end game. I wouldn't worry about a nerf coming to the class. Devs are not overly concerned with balancing classes at lower levels from my experience. If anything I imagine Illy's will get buffed for the sake of end game balance and that might trickle down and also buff lower level illys as well.

Ever.</p></blockquote><p>Raiders dont need mezzers.  It depends on your group really, 1 survivability option for the final fight is a mezzer.  Just like TXD in Maidens chamber, some people need a mezzer and the higher powered people can blow through ignoreing the scripts.</p>

I've tried to mez that once and got screamed at. The typical reaction to any stuns/mezzes/roots that just happen to land. Good to know it's at least an option for some.</p>

Ever.</p></blockquote><p>Mezzing the adds on last fight (Queen) was a common tactic to survive when doing this zone for the first couple of times.  However, with good gear (and a good tank :p )it does not 'require' mezzing. </p><p>Anyway ... you proved my point ... crowd control has become a joke since SF</p>

<p>Yeah, I read the OP and thought, "this can be for real..." unless they were only soloing, lol!</p><p>But yeah, it is what it is.</p><p>As for Cella, the first few times I did it we didn't even bother mezzing.  After I was in a group with a tank that had trouble grabbing and holding them (or a single healer that was a little overwhelmed) I would AE mez, er stun, the adds and that was enough to push us through.  Felt like easy mode though...</p><p>Hey, a win is a win!</p>
