Hi all. I'm having a tough choice.

I played a long time ago, and haven't been back till now. Wife is trying out a templar and really enjoying it. So I wanted someone who could protect and provde some DPS. I'm stuck between monk and berserker.

The coolness factor helps, but I like to solo as much as I group, and want to let her survive (helps to the fun factor when just starting if you don't die often). Can some of you more experienced players give me the pros and cons of each? I'm not really that hardcore, nor do I care about exact formula and numbers for DPS and defense.

Thanks!!!

Right now the berserker is going to be the better choice. They deal better DPS and generate more threat in almost all situation and they also have to give up much less offense compared to a monk when going defensive. Although at the high end of the game, if you are only looking at the classes ability to absorb incoming damage than the monk should be on par with the berserker, perhaps even have a slight lead. The monk also has more snap-agro abilities and (in my opinion) superior temp defensive buffs.

Right now the clear choice is zerker as they have out healed 2-3 healers in their group combined in competitions like BG Klack ... combined outhealed them no less . The nerf wont hurt them as bad as they are acting like . If you wanna tank Zerk is wtg .

For all round performance the zerker will be the better choice at the end game. From low levels to say lvl 80 the monk will be better. Once both are ninety and have maxxed aa'a and mythical abilities and of course gear the zerker will be a beast.

If you want to run past most of the content so you can FD and get to killing the good stuff quickly, then monk is better.

For pretty much everything else, zerk is the way to go.
