Twice now, we've run the x2 Vigilant instance and when Prime Trajin Ghis teleports to the center, the walls are not appearing at all. The first time the entire raid zoned out and zoned back in after a couple failed attempts and that seemed to fix it. This last time (Aug 8th 2010), however, the walls just did not appear at all.

We've killed him before earlier on but hadn't been back to the zone in a while. Anyone else experiencing problems with the walls not appearing?

Have you hailed the NPC mages and is someone rezzing them? Took us a few tries of tihnking the fight was bugged before we figured out what we were missing.

We also had the problem last week of the elemental barriers not appearing when he ports back to his initial location - it's nothing to do with the sages - was ok on the 3rd or so pull though.

We had 4 out of 5 pulls where on the first AE the left side wall (facing where he ports to) would spawn Waaaaaaaaay back and the middle one was nowhere near where is should spawn either, but not quite so far back as the left side wall.

There wasn't time to run to either of what should have been the closest ones before his AE went off..

5th Pull , all the walls appeared where they should have and he died.

Pull him right in the center of the room in front of where he spawns and you'll have no problems seeing ice walls when they spawn. If the ice walls aren't spawning then mages aren't getting resurrected quick enough.

I was on the August 8 raid with Valkor. We were resurrecting the NPC mages as quickly as they can be clicked, so that was not the issue. When we have seen this in the past, it has worked to zone out and back in, we have then gone back and done exactly the same strat, walls spawn, he dies. I am convinced it is not an issue with the npc mages.

I've occasionaly seen 1 or 2 walls fail to appear even though the mages/sages/whatever they are were dealt with correctly.

I've never seen all 3 fail to show, but that would sorta suck.

I've also seen people standing at the right place, at the right time, in the right model size, and still get killed. I assume its an issue of server performance like the PC fight is.

I suspect the pulls where you are seeing no ice walls, they are there but the client has a z-axis error, so like many mobs pulled where there's a floor below or above, the walls probably snap to the wrong level, or at least don't display for the player.

Most folks who still die when they successfully get behind an ice wall have a character model part sticking through the wall. If even a pixel of your character is poking through the non-solid walls, the name has line of sight and will execute the killing shot. We had to have some "soccer practice" making a human wall and get certain people used to where to stand: directly in center, facing the wall flat, 1 meter gap between body and wall.

This fight was quite a pain for the last raid I went with. In all our attempts I never saw 3 walls infact I was under the impression that there was only 2 and it was a random element you had to deal with. But this does explain why you would still get the message that you have taken cover behind a wall when standing in a empty spot where the wall is supposed to be. And we did have one attempt where there were 0 walls and many with only 1. Of course people start to blame healers but after a few attempts the whole raid is watching the mages just to see if one of our healers was slacking but the mages were always up on time.

We were actually able to survive several times with only 1 wall spawning as long as it was the one near the tank. Something we observed is that if all 12 people are behind one wall - everyone dies. On one one attempt I was the last person to get behind the only wall and the whole raid got axed. Next time it happened I decided to be the only one to stay out (actually was frantically running around trying to find another wall) So I use my conjy stoneskin thinking Id live but quadruple axe = 4 hits, stoneskin = absorb 3 hits. math pwns me. This happened quite a few times.

Like all the vigilant zones - If something ain't where its supposed to be then its either below the floor or stuck in a wall.

I've always assumed that the # of walls you got was random (between 1 and 4) and we just run to the walls that show up. But now it does sound like it's everyone's "friend" the z-axis bug, so the walls should probably be adjusted to spawn a bit higher to ensure that they show up.

Killed this mob for months, and months,

Only ever had 2 walls pop, not 1 nor 3 or 4...2.

we fight him right in front of where he stands, 3 healers, 2 at the front near mages to rez...1 middle back to do that mage.

Only issue we ever have is you cannot be in the wall, or slightly off center. you need to be behind it, not touching it and dead center of it.

Make sure you have your settings turned up, if you run on bottom 2 choices the walls are only visable from about 10mtrs zoomed in close to your char, zoom out far...you wont ever see them.

on high quality i could have my camera zoomed out to max and see the 2 walls pop in any of the 6 locs for them (4 front) (2 back)

Killed him after 4 pulls: 1st one walls appeared, 2 and 3 no walls at all, 4th one walls appeared.

The only common factor we could deduce was that on the 1st and 4th pull we were fighting him directly in the center on the carpet, which someone mentioned as a key to avoiding the bug earlier in this thread. On 2 and 3, the tank/mob were up on the railing or just to the side when he teleported.

So for what it is worth, try tanking him directly in the center and keep Prime and the tank on the carpet. Obviously, not enough pulls to be certain it wasn't something else (or just random) but thought I'd update anyway.

And yes, I run on high quality settings so I don't believe spotting the walls is the issue. I suppose if you're bored and running the x2, those who have always had success could fight him off to the side to see what happens
