We have just posted all of our photos from the Fan Faire Banquet & Costume Contest, including multiple shots of every contestant, and a ton of photos of the wedding proposal you've been hearing about. It was a great moment and it was tremendous to be present for it. Players really went all out on their costumes and it was a lot of fun to see the creativity and dedication put into them. EQ2Wire Fan Faire Banquet & Costume Contest Photos (125 items)

It was so much fun! And I loved that there were more categories and 3 places for each.

I am also really really really thrilled by how the crowd called for the panda to be part of the 2nd/3rd place cheer-off for People's Choice. Totally awesome and THAT was the best prize of all in my own book

Yes, that was me *impish grin*

(I was also terribly amused when the EQ2 Q&A panel insisted I do the dance before I could ask a question *laugh*)

The Billy costume was Marlee from Mistmoore server. The costume was real burlap and the hair was handwoven, braided, and individually stiffened and placed. It required a basket and seperate pillow because of the weight. It took 5 solid days nonstop to make it. Underneath the costume was a frozen gel camelback, a chest fan and iced gel packs in a fanny pack around the waist. The feet were 24 inch diameter circles and very hard to maneuver. The stuffing was pillow stuffing and most importantly - flotation beads! There was enough beads in there, Billy would never have sunk at the pool party. And I'm sure he would have been thrown in had that been known. Should have had panda teach the panda dance to Billy.

That being said, the caliber of the costumes this year was phenominal. True works of art.

Thanks again to everyone who came out for the contest. It truly was awe-inspiring talking to each of the entrants and hearing about all the things they did to make their costumes. We were thrilled to be able to create a handful of categories this year so we could recognize more people and their hard work. Billy, the Blood Siren, Rijacki's Hua'Mein, the EQII dress...too many to name, and it was really hard to judge.

Can't wait to see what everyone does next year! We've already got plans to make it more organized and even better!

She was trying to fix her costume, the feet had come unstrapped which is why she was holding the legs to walk.

I helped her get out of the costume a bit so she could shift things around, and omg, I've never seen that many floatation beads! She even left a few in the bathroom as she tied the suit back on.

The headpiece was something else. The hair was yarn she wove together, used stiffener on, and shoved thru the basket she used for the head. They were very hard and sharp, hence the pillow.

It was very interesting to see the costume close up and the working insides, as it were. And she was fun to chat with!
