Do characters from a canceled subscription still exist upon renewal?

<p>I canceled about a year ago after solid subscription in EQ and EQ2 since it began.  I am thinking of re-subscribing, however, i am wondering if my old character names/classes are still reserved and accessible still.  I know everything would change, but i really do not want to lose my names as that is how all my old friends could find me.</p><p>Been looking for this answer but haven't had any luck thus far.</p><p>Thanks all!</p>

<p>There have been VERY few character wipes on the normal servers (usually when there was a merge).  Have you tried to look them up at <a href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/">EverQuest II - News</a>?  </p><p>Unless your characters were below level 10 with a very small amount of coin on them, they "should" still be there.</p>
