I was playing on my brand new laptop, 2 days ago... then it patched the other day and now I'm getting a Verify: fatal error... E:liveeq2frameworkrendersrcVeShader.cpp(10223): m_pPixelShader00939950

My computer is an Asus laptop(Republic of Gamers) intel core i7 processor, 6GB DDR3 memory, and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics with 1 GB dedicated memory... it was running the game 100 fps. Now it crashes everytime. Cruel, cruel world.

okay, it has been almost a whole week now... still can't play on my laptop. I have tried many other suggestions on the forums. Anyone else getting this after the patch last week?

I have a similar problem on one of my laptops (spec is close to yours) other computer completely crashes when trying to load the game. After getting completely ignored on the forums for over a week I opened a customer support ticket. The TSRs on the ticket went back an forth with me for about 2 weeks (mostly b/c they take a few days to answer) stating all the usual obvious fixes like update the drivers/DX/re-download which I did both before posting and again redoing everything they told me to do. Finally after asking for the support ticket to be escalated to a senior TSR who again told me the same 'update drivers/DX/re-download' they stopped replying.

Over the passed month or so I have come across several posts regarding a similar problem which are totally ignored by the customer service team on this forum.

I would like to point out EVERY other game I try works fine even the very system demanding ones. Which leads me to think there is a problem in the EQ2 code. But since the errors are not handled properly its much easier to point to the user system as the cause.

Still hope for some sort of solution, I doubt we will see one but at least you got some sort of reply to your post from me.

Gedd , I do appreciate someone replying thank you. Maybe I'll try giving a holler to the tech support... not that it sounds like it"ll do any good. But thanks.

I have reformatted my brand new laptop's hard drive I have a fresh install of windows 7 home premium edition and reinstalled everquest2... the" Fatal Error <verify> E:liveeq2frameworkrendersrcVeShader.cpp(10223): m_pPixelShader 00939950 " still pops up everytime I try to run eq2 without the compatibility troubleshooter(I have tried so many different compatibility settings that I have lost track of how many I have tried) it crashes everytime... if I try to run the compatilibity troubleshooter on windows xp service pack 2 or 3 it tries to download dbghelp file and then cancels the download. I have tried uninstalling the virus software and completely turning off the windows firewall. I have tried connecting through the modem at home and at work and direct via my broadband card with no modem. I have tried deleting suggested files per the suggestions here. Before reformatting I had tried doing all critical updates and they caused other programs to crash and I have tried the new ati video driver, no help there....

What should i try next?
