I posted in general game play. That post was locked. I haven't had a response from the mod. I have since realized this might be isolated. So let's try this again, this time maybe a bit clearer.

I AM NOT ON EQ2X. I DID NOT DOWNLOAD IT. I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR IT. I AM NOT ON THOSE BOARDS.

I will be angry if this is locked and I'm told to post on EQ2X boards. I haven't done anything connected to that. I do not see why I can't post this here on the EQ2 boards when I am focused just on EQ2 without the x.

We got that out of the way.

Right now on my computer 39 gigs of EQ2X is sitting there. I'm curious why it's there. I want to know why it was installed. There was no warning. No message. No "Do you want to download". I am not on test. I didn't update test. I didn't go out of my way to install it. I haven't grabbed it from the web. 39 gigs is alot of space.

Since my last post I talked to others about it a bit, they don't have this issue. I still want an idea of where it came from or how it got there. Is there a way for it to be auto installed if I visit the main eq2x website? Is it updated through the eq2 launcher?

Checking my download history from my browser, I didn't download anything unusual.

Beyond that, the uninstall says it will uninstall EQ2 along with EQ2X. This isn't making me happy at all.

How does the directory structure look like, and which patcher do you use (station launcher or streaming or the old EQ2 on-disk patcher)? By directory structure, I mean you have your EverQuest II folder (which is 39GB from what you're saying). What is in there folder wise that is taking up so much space?

My EQ2 folder is different than the default for the EQ2x default folder. The 39 gigs comes from windows install/remove programs, which I'll freely admit is probably wrong. The EQ2X folder is about 15 gigs and looks near identical to my real EQ2 file structure wise. It is for EQ2X, I've verified that much.

I only noticed because I have a small hard drive and try to keep 20 gigs free. Last week I noticed I was down to 3 gigs. When I was cleaning up I came across this.

As for the patcher, I believe I use Station Launcher.

Hmm, if they're in separate folders, why not just delete the EQ2x one and see if it stays gone? My guess it somehow your launcher got set to download EQ2X or you clicked something to download it without realizing it. A normal install of EQ2 shouldn't install EQ2X at all.

Do you know if there is an option in the station launcher for that? I want to make sure it is turned off.

And yes, I'm probably going to do that, but I'm still upset that it just suddenly appeared. If there is an option it was either set or way too easy for me to accidently click.

I'm not sure, I use the streaming patcher rather than the station launcher. Someone that uses the station launcher or one of the TSRs might know a bit more there.

I use the latest version of the full download patcher and do not see that option for it
