Bring back the infamy system

Remove perma immunity from all open world pvp zones

Thanks for adding new hardware, it only took 2+ years of consistant moaning, but it finally was heard, thanks for this. It was much needed. You still need to bring back a risk vs reward system though, that will keep people playing your game for a little while longer.

This new hardware + the renstatement of level locking are both steps in the right direction, keep going & you'll be sure to keep people around...I don't agree with the new Eq2 extended beta thing, but thats a whole other story. Thanks.

-Dreww

People run enough, adding a title to lose will bring back even more running and cliff diving. I would be for it, if they did something about getting out of combat in 5 seconds.

If there are more people playing and pvping, you care less about a few people running away.

Roll with non fail people and you'll catch the runners. Only runners I ever had problem with were the safe housers thats it. Running is not an excuse to not bring back infamy.

Back before they changed the fame system, I would agree that fame was a huge part of people running.

But then they removed fame. And people still ran. And everyone obtained "Overlord" titles. And it was stupid.

People will always run. Even if you don't have a measurable "death" count with a /pvp command or leaderboards, the "YOU HAVE DIED" screen is enough to make players run as if dying in game will physically cause them harm.

I'm a coercer, running isn't really my specialty

When's the last time you logged off, because every time I see u ur on the docks or in QH afk because u dont want to lose your overlord title, ashame it doesn't actually mean anything considering every time I see you, you're with an x4+ of ppl, but must be nice to play in Qeynos!

i lost overlord months ago, fyi. i'm still overseer. i don't log off, true enough. pretty bored with the game lately, and i just minimize the window and forget about it, often for days at a time. i keep it running tho, in case i get the urge to lfg for a minute or 2. i usually get bored and minimize it again. if i had to start from the desktop, i would prolly get bored and walk away before i got done typing my pw in. of course you don't mind the runners as a coercer. you have real cc and respectable ranged dps that stacks. i play a zerk and a temp. burst dps for a zerk is a double attack. i have no cc against a runner. i can chase ppl but they get out of combat and leave me in the dust. maybe if they start selling tinkered snare items on station exchange you can use that for an argument, but i'm going preemptively throw the bs flag on that one. i don't think i need to explain to you why fighting runners as a templar sucks. soe made the right call on the fame race. runners add a whole new lvl of 'suck' to pvp. no reason to give them any more reason to run. i drafted a decent little rank system some time ago. not much feedback on it tho. couple ppl liked it. i don't think anyone hated it. in essence it rewarded you for pvp'ing, but notsomuch if you were ganking.

Fame is what made this game fun. It added a competitive sense to PVP, with out it it's boring. It's so easy to get pvp gear now; there needs to be some incentive to PVP after you're all geared out. Fame was the answer, but not now! hopefully Ohilin will add it back like he's been saying.

No fame plz.

Like mentioned somewhere else in this thread.

Fame = Making it harder for half the classes to enjoy the game while making the other exstatic.

It will just be the top dog classes vs the rest cannon foddder classes that are stupid enough to leave town alone or without a tracker/evaccer.. Sure fame is fun if u have the right classs but seing that PVP is still some way from that then i cant see the benefit from having fame back.

Bah when i think back to the fameperiod all i remember is ppl using every legit or non legit way of running away to avoid fameloss. Was truly pathetic.

The only thing that would make fame work is to have scout evacs have longer casttime and be highly interuptable, also track would have to be changed in some sort or else it is just back to scout heaven again..

The only good thing about bringing fame back is that we cant use god spells anymore. But that is also the best argument out of many bad ones that goes against bringing fame back imo..

I vote no unless we see more class balance for solo pvp.

Other wise it is stacked grps and high dps/scouts classes that will be the only ones to benefit =(

Cheers

jabib

fame didn't make the game fun. i remember ppl started running from me on sight once i was within fame range of them. the same ppl that would attempt to gank me when they weren't at risk of losing fame. hopefully olihin will come up with something better than that old system of suckness.

regardless if it's the old fame system or not there needs to be risk vs reward. I want to see, "Your death has decreased your infamy" or "Your victory as increased your infamy" and have it actually mean something. Those were the moments that made this game different than any other game.

After you have your PVP gear (which is very easy to get now, all you have left is PVP) and PVP with titles is what made it fun. Ohilin said they are going to balance classes, but there will always be that one OP class, this game wasn't designed around PVP in the first place, it was implemented. There's no reason not bring back infamy now because everyone is pretty much done gearing their main toons, give us a reason to PVP.
