View Full Version : All of my characters are gone.

<p>I logged in this morning and after a short update through the launch pad, I came to the character select screen where it asked me to start a new character.</p><p>All of my characters are gone. I have had the account for 5 years and I have never had a problem. No one knows my password and my computer is free of viruses.</p><p>Does this have something to do with the update? Should I contact someone about this?</p><p>Please help.</p>

<p>I'm assuming you are using the Streaming Launcher, and the issue is a bug that happened where the Language code is defaulting away from U.S. to the European servers. If you switch that to U.S. before you log in, you will find all your characters happy and safe. There is a fix on the way, and a temporary workaround that can be found <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=483566" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>

<p>This happened to me also late last night, my keyboard glitched and I rebooted my system, after a short update I could only get a blank character select screen, thank goodness for support forums, can't wait to get home from work and try it.</p>

<p>I'm having the same issue, but even with the options suggested above are not working. Don't really want to waste my first few days back trying to fix this.</p>

<p>You can log in to US servers by switching to US servers in options and clicking save. The trick is that you have to close the client, reopen it, and it should do a short update and lead you to US servers. The problem is that you have to do this every time.</p><p>So try what Jamison said.</p>

I changed it to "US English" and RESTARTED the streaming launcher just now. My characters are back. Thank you.</p><p>On a side note, changing the language in the Streaming Launchpad will set my client to use different login servers or what? Interesting. So if I decide that I want to use a different language I have to start an entire new set of characters? Also, I have every character slot full for my praticular subscription but still had the option to create new characters based on a language setting? I've seen this game go through so many changes the past 6 years, it's really an incredible engine LaunchPad on the otherhand DRIVES ME NUTS!!! I might go back to the station launcher, it's straight to the point.</p><p>Thanks again Jamison.</p>

<p>I got a two issues,</p><p>Issue1: I keep getting prompted about 13GB space limit and eq2 will close well i have 1 HDD with over 788GB free how come every time I login this happens?</p><p>can you set it like the other warnings and only appear once?</p><p>Issue2: if i am a paying subscriber and I am on EU servers why do I only get the extended ability? Why do I not get the ability to choose any location or class?</p>

<p>i not sure if its related or not, but after i first logged on after having to do this fix all my plat and any gear i wasnt wearing has dissappered.</p>

If you were expecting to find old characters, you've logged into the wrong account. If you need help finding your account, feel free to PM me.</p>

If you click on that, you will get a dialog that will allow you to set it to "US English" (or another region if you wish).</p><p>-dan</p>

It sounds like you need to get a ticket in to the GM's asap.</p>
