Just got off the beta. You can buy mastercrafted gear at appropriate levels: 2, 12, 22. There is absolutely no need for crafted items.

Of course crafting is still fun in its own right and Domino has done so much to make it viable as well as fun. Its just superfulous on that format.

To say the least its not to my taste. I was surprised how much of a downer it was to be able to simply buy all the gear and get those awesome potions for super fast leveling and AA's. It's simply not that much fun for me.

Thing about MMO's before RMT was that you were invested in your toons and the effort it took to gear them. Now you are literally 'invested' but there is no emotional investment. Might as well play an FPS for free.

I suggest folks check it out, when you log in you have infinite cash to buy stuff from the market place. MC gear shows up when you hit the appropriate levels. Some really interesting and powerful stuff available. Fun to try.

Oh: I was very disappointed in the new combat and spell effects. As an SK it was almost heart-renching to see those iconic and epic effects gone. Functional but blah.

I concur and the more I think about the sadder I get about this whole thing. I love to craft- make food/drink, furniture.

Crafting in EQ2X will be controlled by a few rich folks who can purchase everything with other rich folks. Bronze and Silvers cant utilize broker so.... no business for them. They will just buy from market.

Hopefully they will offer Broker access to the Silver Level even if it is limited.

I need to qualify my statement. Looks like expert spells are not for sell. Rare materials are though. There are potions that reduce research time up to 7 days.

I don't recall seeing food or drink.

Of course these items could go for sale at any time. In fact for silver and bronze they almost need to since they don't have access to the broker.

I agree. Yeah you can waste money on them but why bother when you can use monopoly money and/or time? It also stops price gougers who charge insane money on the broker if you can stick two fingers up at them and buy them on SC.

Besides, I dont think anyone can really predict which way this will go.

Can't wait to hear the complaints about people not being able to get Experts made because no one leveled up a crafter... it'll be sweet justice... at least until they introduce a "level crafter to 80" potion for 25 bucks.

Locking this one down as it does not concern anything currently in testing on the EQII Test server(s).

If you wish to give feedback on EQIIX please see their own forums or keep it to the thread already provided in the Developers Roundtable.
