That skyblade skiff is hot!

It is unfortunate that it has no rooms though. Is the zone for it large enough to accommodate building floating rooms and stuff outside the boundaries of the skiff?

Wow, I was hoping the Skiff would be a house of some sort from the description, but that's pretty cool. Can't wait to get mine and see how much customizing we can do around / outside the skiff (as opposed to just building on deck). I probably won't move my main there, but it'll be a cool thing to have on alts (especially with no upkeep).

Im curious, what does us european folk have to do to view said link? Im sitting in germany, and whenever I click a newspost link, it takes me to the german "page not found" page. I can go to the homepage for everquest2.com, but on the german site, it doesnt show the same news articles as are linked here, for instance, this particular post isnt on there.

Language selection also doesnt seem to stick, so im at a bit of a loss here :/

What is the item limit and number of broker slots for the skiff?

Or, you could go to the top of the German page, click the arrow next to the German flag and choose the US flag to redirect to our English page.

The ship is nice. Too bad it cant be made into a second home b/c I would never relinquish my home for it but an alt will find use for it. Also, it would have been nice to have atleast a bottom deck as a room.

Anyway, out of curiosity, does the cloak have an effect on it?

Now that platinum is sold out, I don't know if you can buy the platinum item package without being at fan faire, you might want to check the fan faire website and see if that shows up as an option.

Having just looked through the website, I'd have to say that the only way to get the Platinum items is to buy a Gold Pass and pay for a manual upgrade on-site. Which means that if you're contemplating buying everything online just for the goodies, then you're SOL.

Not that I'd really want to pay that kind of money for just the flying ship home. But it would be really great if SOE could set up some kind of e-pass only for the upgrade items.

Just throw them on the Marketplace for a limited time (while fan faire is going on)

They've let folks register and get the bonuses even without showing up, and I'm ok with that -- you have to really really want it to pay that much for it, and it covers those people that were actually planning to go but then couldn't make it at the last minute. Putting it on the marketplace would be a whole different story.

My husband and I bought the Platinum pass but he has not recieved his email yet about having the pass mailed to him. What is the procedure he should follow to get his pass mailed to him?

is this an online thing we can do or do we actually have to physically be there in order to receive the ingame item?

and if so, how do you go about registering in order to recieve the ingame items?

For the special bonus item for the platinum pass, you'd have to buy gold or silver and then physically attend in order to buy the platinum bonus item upgrade. (You could have bought the platinum pass and not attended before they were sold out, however now the in-Vegas upgrade is the only currently available way to get the skiff).

If you want to buy a silver pass to get the in-game rewards, you have to do so quick -- registration closes this week (either today or tomorrow).

oh well, since platinum is sold out, all i wanted was the skiff anyway and i guess thats no longer an option.

kinda silly an ingame item has to be "sold out" which should be unlimited since its an internet thing.

Geez, you can only use the deck, and you have to give up your house!? The idea is cool, but the execution is a little lame. Congrats to those who will get it, though.

The pass is sold out because it grants access to events at Fan Faire that likely have a limited amount of seating or some other restriction. The purpose of the pass is to attend Fan Faire, the items are a bonus. Buying it for the item alone is not only rather pricy (Platinum pass was $139), but is not the point. The main reason that I see that you can buy the passes and get the items without actually going is for those that were planning to go but had to back out at the last minute (sickness, etc.).

Hrm. We were assured that this would be better than pie... it looks cool, but it's not better than pie unless the mechanics are awesome.

Un-awesome mechanics will be: the skiff is tethered somewhere (so we have to get to that zone first), we can't change where it's tethered, leaving the skiff takes me to the tether zone, and the view sucks (clouds).

Awesome mechanics: with the deed comes a Call to Skiff spell, the ability to relocate it so the view over the side can be Lavastorm or Antonica or wherever (changeable at will), and leaving the skiff is like belling so we can select where to go.

Seriously, if we're going to give up an actual house for a mobile home, it's going to need to provide mobility (not just look great).

Side note: allowance has been made for switching back and forth? (tired of the skiff, back to a house for a while, tired of the house, back to the skiff)

I agree that it would be nice to choose where it's located, though I'm guessing it'll be Moors.

What would be awesome is if you can change your deed into a placeable house item as well, a mini version of the skiff. *puppy dog eyes*

Couple of answers:

Badges have not been mailed out yet. I believe they are going out this week. You don't need to do anything except check your mailbox.

The skiff is tethered, I believe. You'll have to see an NPC to access it, if I understand correctly, the same way you'd see an inkeeper when you're buying your house. We should get more details at Fan Faire.
