Hi there,

I was just wondering if there was a certain level where the Mage pet stops being viable for soloing due to mobs hitting to hard. Will there be a certain level where I need to start using the earth pet again?

Thanks!

Well my conj is lvl 70 atm and I have finished all of the Over-realm quests; I had no problem having my mage pet out while soloing. I hear that the clothies have some problems soloing when u get to the Kylong Plains etc, so maybe cross that bridge when u come to it! Hope that helps

I used my mage pet to take me from 80 to 90. The Mage pet has enough beefiness to take down heroics if you're careful. Against non-heroics, there's no reason at all NOT to use the Mage pet.

You might want to master your def stance, since it will not hurt your dps at all, and invest some AA into defensive skills (e.g. pet heal, enhance vehement skin (which is very much underrated)), but overall you should be fine. You can easily solo heroic with the mage pet at 90, and with a halfway decent healer you can actually tank most of the SF instances with your mage pet. Thanks to your hate gain, you'll find yourself tanking a lot anyway...

I use my tank pet ONLY when the mob i'm fighting hits harder / faster to out weigh my heals and wards. Since my tank pet doesn't hold agro, it truely becomes a slow fight, but it works when necessary and thankfully its not very often!

Yup mage pet is a beast. The tank pet is slightly more sturdy but this only comes into play if you are trying to solo heroic content thats meant for 6 people with really vicious melee damage (Bonegrinder in CoA for one) but then if you have a good healer with you then thats not necessary. So basically, I'd say just use the mage pet for pretty much everything. Solo content is a joke with it.
