Ok. I am loading the actual game now. Not sure what I did. I went on an ini and log deleting spree and pretty much changed them all to .bak or just deleted them.

hey cool, could you get the command line startup information by using SysInternals' Process Explorer ?

Get it here if you dont have it yet:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/...s/bb896653.aspx

Thrn look for everquest2.exe, go to properties, somewhere there must be a long line with lots of command line options, can you try to post those? Just remove session id

I have now attempted to get it to start by doing it over and over, going to properties and turning on run in XP SP2 compatibility mode, and Run as administrator, and 0 success. I have been back 1 week now, and everything has been running fine, until today's patch. Maybe a made a mistake by leaving the other MMO I was playing to come back?

I was having the same issue. Looks like it cleared up after deleting the updatestatus.xml from C:Program Files (x86)SonyStationLaunchpadLONSCG folder

Now it just started having another issue, where it is not even letting my account and password go through the launcher. I am hoping that this means they took down the login server for a moment to fix whatever the issue is.

Same Problem here

My launchpad.exe closed itself when it begin checking for the cache.

After renaming the newest file at /assetcache the launcher started with no more problems. But you will loose some streamed data (between 0-2gb). If it works, you can delete the renamed file.

Maybe this helps someone.

I'm having this same problem. The Luncher crashes with no message (XP sp3, streaming client version). When I run everquest2.exe I get the following error and then it closes the window.

EverQuestII has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.

E:liveeq2frameworkrendersrcVeShader.cpp (10223):00939950

The above mentioned solution did not solve the problem

The client has been running just fine for the last 3-4 months on this computer until todays hot fix...

The fix here - http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=482696

Seems to have worked for me

Didn't I wrote that you have to rename/ delete the newest file of this folder? :/

Maybe my English is bad but I thought is was possible to understand my solution.

this fixed it for me : go to "C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIassetcache" and delete all files. then restart the launcher. (if it doesn´t work, you can restore the delted files) the launcher should create new versions of the deleted files and continue normally. mk thanks to user named "self" for that

@leafreader

I have the same problem, if I try to start EQ2 using everquest2.exe... but it always works for me, if I use the launcher. You have the problem though using the launcher?

You have the problem though using the launcher?

Aye, it does exactly as the person above this post stated - I get as far as the Start button turning green, but only just, and then the window dissapears without any error message. I only found the error message when I used the executable directly. I am currently downloading the station launcher program as I was using the streaming client before. Sadly, even with the speed I have here, that will take a while to download...

Mh... you can rename some other folders, so they will be downloaded again by the launcher - maybe there is another file broken?

Well i seem to be getting a bit of a different error message... There was a problem moving C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempEverQuest2.exe_delta_9410_339.patched to C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIEverQuest2.exe. Please make sure the game is not running. Any advice on this?

There were a few ideas thrown around here: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=482690

That some of you may find helpful, this and the other fix listed earlier all come down to the same thing -- re-downloading the game, either by removing assectcache files and letting the EQ2 launchpad check and re-download or by switching to a different launcher entirely.

Now to those of us that have tried removing assectcache files with no luck, the launchpad is still crashing, I recommend either switching to the Station Launcher (http://launcher.station.sony.com/) which is what I'm trying, or following the above post and use the legacy EQ2 Launcher.

@Zeekinator, if you tried launching EQ2.exe and then minimized the error window or it got put behind an explorer window, etc. And then tried to run the launchpad, that would explain that error. Try opening process manager(Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to verify that EQ2.exe is not running, sometimes the process won't quit/kill when the application crashes. Alternatively, try a restart and see if the issue persists with the same error message.

Maybe rename everquest2.exe before starting the launcher? Probably there is write protection active on everquest2.exe? (right click --> properties)

Nice. I leave the game for a year and a half, and SOE is still suffering from the same old crap. How long does it take to get a working update procedure?

I've did the restart thing and all that, that is the message i get using the station launcher. After the message pops up it just starts to rescan and repeat the process over and over
