Wondering if its possible to transfer copy the EQ2 folder or if it has to be installed? Or if it can be down as a shortcut vs having to download and reinstall everything. I'm looking to reformat my HD but downloading eq2 is ages for me, wondering if can transfer to my second harddrive and if will work or work with minimal download/installing vs many many gigs.

Thanks

copy the folder then get the launcher again on your fresh installed OS then just get it to start downloading it or whatever then just close it and paste the folder in there so it has everything it needs, I'm pretty sure that will work.

I just copy the eq2 folder, and first time I run the launcher it sorts itself out. Its never necessary to go back to a fresh download really.

We do it every time. We also use that to "install" the game on a new computer as well or to "pre-patch" on one which hasn't been patched in while (like getting my work laptop up to date before leaving on a trip). You will still have -some- patching while it sorts itself out, but not the hours you would to re-download everything.

BUT, you need to use the same type of launcher you did before (i.e. direct exe, Station Launcher, streaming client, Steam, etc). If you switch launcher type, the new launcher can.. umm.. get confused (or doesn't have the file data saved for itself) and think it needs to re-download everything to sync up files.
