Was looking at the predator tree, and it looks like the first 3 lines are tailored to enhance each respective class: Assassin (str)/Ranger (agil)/Swash (stam), but can be combined to enhance any 1 class. Specifically, there are 2 abilities I wanted clarification on. Vicious Stabbing and Surrounding Attacks, are these 2 abilities melee specific, or do they affect ranged attacks? Knowing that rangers use a combination of ranged/melee CA's, I am hoping for a reputable answer from a veteran ranger, thanks.

Viscious stabbing does work for us, surrounding attacks does not (unless you use melee Auto). You have a mistaken assumption somewhere because swash do not share the predator tree with rangers and assassins so our sta line has nothing to do with them
