For past 90 minutes or so Station launcher hangs when I double click it. It was working last time I used it about 24 hours ago. I get no visual response on screen that station launcher is running, but if I bring up task manager I see that StationLauncher.exe and VivoxVoiceService.exe are both running. If I reboot or shut down computer I get a message indicating that StationLaucher needs to be terminated, would I like to wait or terminate it now. Other network connectivity for that machine seems fine. I can web browse to forums, I can ping the lp2.patch.station.sony.com. Cycled power on cable modem, router/firewall, and computer just to be sure, but no change.

Running XP Home, SP3.

I have found a StationServers.exe.log that has been updated today with messages (transcribing from other computer so pardon typos)

INFO station::service::Application - Starting application .....INFO station::service::Application - Trying to start vivox voice serviceINFO MessageQueue - Tried to remove queue that doesn't exist: 'voice_service'ERROR Service Request Queue - There already is an existing request queue: voice_serviceERROR station::service::MessageQueue - Exception caught creating/opening message queue: The file exists.INFO station::service::MessageQueue - Queue voice_service has been close...INFO MessageQueue - Tried to remove queue that doesn't exist: 'voice_service'ERROR ServiceREquestQueue - Couldn't close the request queue.FATAL station::service::StationService - Failed opening the service request queueERROR station::service::StationService - Failed to initialize station service. Exiting...INFO station::service::Application - Exiting application successfully.

I see a "voice_service" file in same directory as this log, but a bit concerned about deleting things.

Hmm, but moved a copy of "voice_service" to my desktop before deleting it from the "Program Files/Sony Online Entertainment/Station Launcher/main" directory and it looks like station launcher might have patched itself before running, but now I have a login panel again, so hopefully its fixed. (This was way too much time debugging, versus playing even if it does work.)

Edit: in game now. Finally.

I'm having the same issue I've tried launching station launcher several times. It either won't open, but will show in Task Manager as running or just hangs on Scanning once it does actually open.

I am having the same issue. Launch gets hung up on 'Patcher Initializing.' I have this problem with both accounts. I found another post on a different soe product and followed the instructions as follows:

1. Right click eq2 icon

2. Choose 'Properties'

3. Click the 'Compatibility' tab and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 2); with 'Privilege Level checked for 'Run this program as an administrator' and apply.

Still having trouble with the patcher initializing after ensuring that the above steps were followed.

I am having this exact issue as detailed in the OP - and multiple attempts have thus far failed to 'catch' and get me into the game. Any word on this?

---

Hey just tried the recommended "right click and adjust properties" advice and got in using those settings. Hoping it wasn't just my lucky 194th attempt

I'm also having that issue. It hangs up with the only option to close the program.

Same problem.

Only thing to add is that Microsoft updated Windows 7 for me last night.
