I decided to try setting the shader to 3.0 and some mapping that said it was for shader 3 only. I was asked to restart the game for it to take effect.

OK, I did. Only difference I immediately saw was that my characters beautiful carrot-top hair had turned a dull auburn. Surrounding npcs also looked dull in the head. I hated it and didn't want to play with it that way.

I have tried several times to reset to 2.0. This time it doesn't ask me to restart the game but I have anyway. Yet the dulled coloring remains.

HELP. Is there a trick to do to get this back to the older setting and the brighter hair again? It was a huge mistake changing the setting for me. Please help, please!

Go into options and reset to default?

Make sure to uncheck the Shader 3 box.

Restart game and should put all settings back.

Make sure you are not using any custom UI's

Nope, that's what I was trying to say I'd already done.

Also I don't have and have never had any custom U.I.

I expected changing the settings back would remove the effect, but it didn't.

Now, I didn't reset to any global default, so I will see if I can find such a thing and try that. I simply tried reversing the setting changes I had made.

Thanks for the idea.

LOL, well I should have known it would be something silly.

I was changing the shader resolution from 3x to 2x instead of deselecting shader 3.0.

But either way, I'm happy again. I understand the hair will get fixed at some point, but my character is not interested in even a temporary dye job!

hehe

glad to hear you got it fixed!
