AA Question

<p>Just Curious as to whether or not the melee alternatives in the mystic tree have any relation to the rank of the spell it is replacing.  For example is Chilling Strikes damage related to the current rank of Vellium Winds or is it just dependant on how many points you put in/level.  If anyone knows the answer please let me know,  because if it is unrelated melee spec could save me some money on masters (have been buying some and dealing damage through spells for my first 30 levels)</p><p>Thanks,</p>

<p>The spell rank doesn't matter. Only the number of AA you put into the combat art and your level do. Besides the usual wisdom, ability modifier and such of course.</p>

<p>This is why most Mystics who are leveling up go with the CA's.  Its that many fewer spells to keep upgrading every 10-14 levels.  Once you get to L90 and start getting geared up, you may find yourself switching back to the nuke instead of the CA version of that because of the recast.</p>
