WIS!!! This contributes to your heals, resistability of your hostile spells and DPS. (this is new with the latest expansion) STA is also good - as it contrivutes to your health, and finally INT will contribute to your Crit Mit

3. Again a lot of debate on this. Clerics can be frustrating b/c they are slow casters, but then so are the shammies. In a MT group, Clerics (esp. Templars b/c of thier stoneskin) and Shammies are preferred. Druids are preferred for caster groups (and I think Inquisitors - but I am not positive about that) If you are a good healer, it really doesn't matter what kind of healer you are. (at least for regular grouping)

4. Temps are highly desired in raids (see above) and I could go on and on about gear. Run the group zones, start there and with Mark gear - then upgrade as you can (look at shard gear for the T8 stuff as you level - though you may not be there for long&nbsp

5. Spells - when you hit the 80s - just shoot for your experts - if you can't mine, then I hope you have some moolah - as you need Ulteran Diamonds to make your experts. Once to have the expert, your can get a research assistant to create your master spell, or you can get them as a drop in group or raid zones. As for gear - the best gear is gotten through grouping. Starting with tier 8 stuff, you can get shards to create special armor (some people can make), and for Tier 9 you will need marks. You can complete solo quests to get shards or marks - but that would be a very long and arduous task to get all of your gear, better to get these through groups.

Good luck! & Have fun!!

Just going to point out some misinformation here, so you don't get confused:

Mel1206 wrote:

2.
Don't forget to use a research assistant to upgrade your spells from expert to master. You can start working on Reverence, Sanctuary, and Divine Arbitration early on, as those 3 spells never get upgraded.

Make sure to do your epic weapon quest at level 80. You don't have to worry about getting the mythical portion of that one done, just do the epic repercussions line at 85 and you'll be in good shape.

For entry into raiding your best bet is to get some gear from heroic instances and carry some brellium resist jewelry sets. That should be enough to keep you alive in the easier raid zones and you can probably find room in a pickup.

Aim for 200+ AAs by level 90 too if you can.

I used to raid frequently but what I'm about to say is based on the way it was before SF. If this has now changed, I'd be grateful if somebody could point out the changes so I can improve my own healing. Anyway, here is how it used to be:

Furies are good in caster groups because of +int buffs, fast HoTs (wardens are also fast casters so can sometimes be used as squishie group healer) and other abilities; in most raids I've been in, the inq gets put in the melee dps group.

Templar is almost always in main tank group with a shaman (usually a defiler in my experience). If a coercer is in the MT group, coercive healing is a good bet (but there is some debate over whether the shaman or templar should benefit from this).

If you find yourself in the MT group, it would be a good idea to get shield ally from the Agi AA line on the cleric tree (there is plenty of info on shield ally both here and on eq2flames). In short, shield ally gives the MT a second avoidance check after their own has been rolled. So anything getting through the MT's mit might get prevented by shield ally. To get the most of shield ally, you will need a shield with high protection with an adornment that increases the +block%. Also, get a +parry% item onto each wrist slot; it needs to be +parry%, not +parry. The latter has no effect on shield ally.

However, I'm still learning about the new adornments and shield ally might have been tampered with so take the above with a pinch of salt! I'm sure someone will correct me if my info is out of date!

Actually, scratch that previous comment. My existing wrist adorns have been changed to +block%
