Some additional information? Connection method & speed? http://www.speedtest.net/ Your location? Server? I mean, it sounds like it's timing out. I've had the issue with it taking a couple of minutes to load the zone, or just not having it happen period, but 99% of the time it's fully loaded in like 10 seconds from clicking on the character. Windows 7 as well.

Oddball question, though. Have you created more than 1 character? Try making 1 on a different server and see if the same thing happens, just for a broader spectrum.

Could it be the zone file is corrupt? What zone are you logging into? Maybe delete the associated zone files from the eq2 folder and repatch?

http://www.speedtest.net/result/863436192.png,

Server, Runneye, im located in sweden, I got 24Mbit connection so that has never been a problem before. i've created like 4 chars and all of them in other zones, and still get the same messages. i will try and delete some zone files and see if that gets me anywhere, thanks for the response, Only servers i can find is runneye and splitpaw and i've tried making chars on both of those euro servers.

grr link seems broken, i had average results when i did the test... 66 ms, good downloading speed etc. ill try and resett the router, DirectX 11 is that the problem? it all sound like some firewall stuff, but i've turned them off..

Link isn't broken, you just have an extra comma at the very end of it. There should be nothing after png

Eh, I'll toss out the generic techy-support question and ask "Have you tried powering down and rebooting all components, modem, router and PC?" Doubtful that would do anything, but I have seen EQ2 re-patch the same 25-ish megs more than once on a reboot. Also, what is the size of the installation folder? If there's something major missing that might be a clue.

Have you tried running a Full File Scan to catch corrupted or missing files? I had a similar problem a while back where I couldn't logon to any characters that were in a particular zone, or zone into it with other characters. A full file scan fixed it for me.

I don't know how to do it from the streaming launcher so here are screenies from the Station Launcher. Just click on Station, then Preferences, select the items you want included and click Run Full Scan.

I've done complete file checks alot of times, even downloaded EQ2 , 2 times, still getting the same message.

it must be my router or my Window 7 / Directx 11 that is messing stuff up, becuase i played EQ2 on my puter when i had Windows XP and worked without any problems.

Windows 7 has the api interface for the game.

This sound smore like a router/firewall issue. What router are you useing and what firewall? Routers can have firewalls built into them also.

You're able to talk to the character creation server so there's SOME connectivity at least, but it seems you're losing it when trying to get to the actual gaming servers. Here's my thoughts/questions:

You said you created characters "in other zones" - does that mean you created characters on other Servers aside from Runnyeye, or do you mean different starting areas?

I would recommend you try to create a character on another server (not Runnyeye) to help narrow this problem down some. You're euro, so I would suggest that you try for giggles to create a character on a US server. To do this you'll have to change the language or the region of your patcher over to US English for it to send you to the US servers.

If you can successfully log in to a character on the US servers, then you have some odd connection issue between your PC and the euro servers. If you cannot successfully log in to any servers (EU or US) then it's definately something blocking that access, either on your computer, or between your computer and the open internet.

Some weeks ago I failed over and over trying to have the streaming client download files to my Windows 7 (I didnt know about the other client at the time so never tried it). I had settings to play on a EU Server. After advice from a friend I changed the settings to US Server, files downloaded without problem, I started a toon on US Server and then logged out. Restarted streaming client, changed settings to play on EU Server, and voila that worked.

Im no expert, but it might be the same root problem for you. Might be worth to try to get the game downloaded and running for US Server first, and then switch back to EU.

GL!
