I'd really like the option to turn the text off on the maintained spell bar.

Edit: I know I don't get out much and possibly it's available in a custom UI and the rest of the world knows about it already but I really like the buffs about to expire popping to the front of the list now!

There already is, visit eq2interface.com and replace it with a custom one.

An easier solution is to resize the window so that its very narrow and the text doesn't show. Currently a tiny bit of text will still be visible but I fixed that bug today. It'll make it to test next time.

Can we have a toggle for this? Maintained Spell Text on / off?

I looked for one, several of us did actually. There needs to be a Toggle! Why didn't you make a Toggle for this?!

I like my maintained Window spread across the width of my screen but now it's this huge chunk insteaed of a thin row of icons. Not only because of the extra Text but also the spacing in between the icons/text and the rows and there's this weird gap (about an inch) at the bottom where neither will go.

And, if you move the window bounderies to make the length smaller, the Icons/Text all seem to flow to the right side and right out of view. Kinda as though ALL the Icons/Text make up 1 piece of art work that can't be auto-scaled.

Rothgar, making the list narrow to hide the text only works when the buff list is vertical. But the default UI doesn't put it vertical, it is horizontal across the top of the screen, which is how most new players will see it. Personally I've changed the list to vertical on my main computer, but when I play at work with pretty much all default settings, they are still across the top and now I can only see 3-4 maintained buffs instead of my full bar in the same space. New players won't realize they have more available. In fact, the default setting on the buff window is locked/no click through, so new players might not even realize they can expand/move the window, or how to do it. I like the option to show the text and timer remaining (and personally I'd love to see the buff target as well, instead of leaving it as a tooltip on hover), but it really needs to be toggleable imo. Also, I'd like to see it be an option on both buff lists, not just the maintained list.

What we need is a toggle to switch off the text altogether, and just have it showing if you hover the mouse over the icon, as it has always done.

I wish it would be put on the left side of the screen vertically for default also. Then when I go to testcopy and cant use profit, I wont have to change as much to make it "playable" for me.

There was also a bug causing the spells to wrap oddly but I fixed it yesterday as well. It'll go to test sometime in the next few weeks.

I'd ask that you wait until you see the other changes that are going with it (to the default layout). Then decide if it fits or not for you. There will be more coming soon. Sorry that this was released without the full picture.

I don't know about the rest of Test but I can wait .. but then I made it near invisable, so it doesn't bother me overly.

However, I'd appreciate it if you did go ahead and make a Toggle for the Text, just in case we'd still would like to hide it. Regardless of the other coming changes. I'm reasonably sure that even with other changes, the Text will still be an optional choice for most experienced players.

I am curious as to what size Monitor & settings you guys use in the Office that makes these bigger UI tweaks that you've done, in the last year or so, acceptable.

Generally, I'm of the opinion that UI space needs to be jealously guarded with extreme prejudice in comparision to my game view. In other words, I prefer the UI to fade into the background & take up as little space as possible, so it doesn't impinge on my Game View.

I have to agree. I play on my laptop because it's newer and gets better performance than my desktop and I don't currently have the money to upgrade. However, it has a much tinier screen. I've switched to DrumsUI because I find it a fairly compact, pleasing UI (never could get into Profit because of the crazy colors/fonts). I hope the default UI is being tweaked to be smaller, not larger! UI is a big part of playability for a lot of people, and I like one that's both functional and as small as possible so I can see what I'm doing in-game.

In the 19th slot of the maintained spell window - graphic is [Removed for Content]'d - stretched to the size that probably the words would end at - can't see any words on that slot at all. Only 19th slot, rest are fine. Didn't matter which buff hit there - each was stretched.

Was boxing 2 - but only saw it on Skeezie - couldn't get to 19 on the coercer.

I /bugged this, but a picture is clearer:

When you reduce the width to the minimum, it shows the right-hand side of the window content. If you could make it show the left hand side, you'd have a way to show just the icons (at least vertically) without coding in a toggle option?

Although I'd agree a toggle to turn the names off would be better. Because as Google learnt recently with their homepage background images rubbish, when you bring in new features it's better to give people a way to opt out of them, not assume that everyone will see it as an improvement!

A way to troggle off please. Before the icons fit nicely into my window and I could see all of them in a little space, Now I have to have a much larger window (any way you configure them) and annoying script playing around and I can't see all my icons anymore without taking up a huge amount of space.

Yup - gonna put my hand up for a toggle too - it's ok at low levels when you don't have many maintained spells but it uses up too much screen real estate as the number climbs.

The toggle is already completed but not on test. If you right-click the window you have the option to turn text on or off. Not sure when this will make it to test though.
