[EDIT] My friend and I have found our home. Thanks to all who responded and gave their input!

New to Everquest II, but not new to gaming or MMORPGs in general. Looking for a laid-back but ACTIVE guild that likes to have a good time and enjoys just playing the game. I currently have a character on the Mistmoore server, but am not attached at this point - will willingly start over on any non-pvp server. I will also be bringing at least one friend with me, with possibility of a few more later on.

Player History:

Most of my MMORGPG experience is (gasp) World of Warcraft, but I am proud to claim years of MUD experience previous to that and hope it restores some validity as a fantasy RPG player. I have also played LOTRO for several months, and dabbled in WAR, DDO, RF Online, and FFXI. Most of my group/raid experience is as a tank, but hoping to do something different this time around. I'll tank if I have to.

Guild Requirements:

A list, in order of priority, of what I am looking for in a guild...

1. Casual (is a must, see below for details)

2. Active (I don't mind solo, but much, MUCH prefer adventuring with others)

3. Friendly

4. On a non-pvp server

Why Casual?

I work full time, I have a wife and a newborn (4 weeks), and have interests outside of gaming. I still play a lot, but often cannot commit to the hardcore schedule that requires specific times. My schedule changes from week to week, so I never know what night or weekend I'll be able to jump in. I know that friends that may potentially follow me here are also in the same boat - wife, kids and job - so a laid-back, casual playstyle is what would fit us best.

[EDIT: For formatting]

[EDIT: Removed alignment preference]

My friend and I have settled on MISTMOORE server at this time, but are still looking for a casual guild of friendly players who enjoy playing as a group. Realizing that may be impossible to find on this particular game... just because there is a large majority of "solo content" doesn't mean you HAVE to do it solo. Anyway, if there is a group of active players who enjoy grouping for grouping's sake (because it's just more fun that way), we would still be willing to change servers to join.

- Sarklank Gnometank, Elemental Arsenal Extraordinaire

Sarklank@Mistmoore wrote:

5. Good aligned

Just a FYI - on PVE servers guilds aren't really good or evil aligned anymore. They haven't been that way since right after launch. Any class can join any guild, and any guild can put a guild hall in any city. The closest a guild has in being aligned with either good or evil these days is whether the guild hall is in a good city or evil city, and that really doesn't matter much at all anyways.

There are quite a few large guilds on Mistmoore that would probably suit you. I believe "Mistmoore Eternal Knights", "Spellbound", and "Order of the White Rose" are all fairly large guilds that would be likely to have members of all levels. There are a lot of other guilds around, but many have mostly max-level players so grouping at low levels wouldn't happen too often.

There's a roleplay guild Valor & Virtue that is good aligned on Lucan Dlere. Might want to check them out

I think their site is valorandvirtue.guildlaunch.com

I'd also recommend Lucan D'Lere as a fun, laid-back server. And Legends of the Tundra is a good, light roleplay, fun guild (ad elsewhere in this thread).
