if you have vista, try going into your program files- your everquest and set each .exe file individually to administrator as well as set the compatablility to windows xp service pack 2.

Also check to make sure that your Virus protection program is allowing access to any everquest files. Sometimes when there is an update with game or your protection software, this can get changed.

only other thing i can think of is make sure you are not running under firefox.... Everquest uses IE and doesnt like anything else

Did you happen to change your Security level for Internet connections in the Internet Options to High? An easy way to check this would to select "Internet Options" in the Control Panel. I didn't research exactly which option(s) that effect the launcher, but this is what caused the very same issue for myself.

Control Panel > Internet Options > Security Tab > Highlight Internet Icon (By Default) > Security level for this zone.

From the available information, it appears that you are not able to reach the web server that is hosting the UI for the application.

Please check the executable name that is running - it should be LaunchPad.exe. Early versions of the client were shipped as "Launcher.exe", but we've changed back over to "LaunchPad.exe" to be compatible with our other versions.

If what you are running isn't "LaunchPad.exe", check your directory, it might already be there. In a worst case scenario, you might want to re-run the installer from here into the same directory. It should fix you up.

If your shortcut is still pointing to "Launcher.exe", you may want to update it. It is supposed to upgrade you, but we've seen some instances where this isn't happening.

-dan
