(if you charmed a fighter mob)

In general, poorly. Once you stat getting your higher dps spells, anything you charm probably won't be able to hold aggro off you. Fighter pets do sometimes taunt, dpending on their charm scripts, and this can help, but for the most part you'll still be relying on your 5% root, your stuns, and your stifle/daze combo in order to not get hurt. Frankly, priest mobs tend to be better tanks than fighters. Roughly same melee damage, plus they can nuke for a good piece and will heal themselves if they go orange health. Scrpit-dependent, of course.

- Does a two higher level charmed mob offers more dmg than a lower level charmed mob?

Depends on the mob. When you charm something it becomes a no-arrow mob regardless of ^^^ or vvv when you initially charmed it. Means you can't really expect it to tank a ^^^ unless it's significantly higher in level. If you charm a caster, its damage is set by the proficiency level of your charm (journeyman/adept/master) and the spells in its script, not by its level.

- Do the reactive abilities in combination with a charmed pet work well?

Melee pets proc hostage, as does puppetmaster. Caster pets proc Spell Curse. Caster pets tend to cast only every 4 seconds or so, though, so you'll probably be procing it more often than they will.

- Does the “permanent” charm spell (zone) at 65 lower or scale the pet, or does it lose a lot of potency?

Possess Essence normalizes pet damage and scales it to your level. PE pets never do much dps, but they do have a lot of hp. It's more of a buffer between you and a given mob. At 90 I send in a PE pet, then do my normal spell rotation to kill it. Even with my hate buff on the pet and myself being Peaceful Linked the pet still won't keep aggro. Of course, even level 90 solo mobs in SBH only have 25,000 to 30,000 hp, so they still die before they get to me.

You can, of course, ramp down your dps in order to let the pet keep aggro. This works best on things like the yellow ^ Hua Mein you have to fight for the daily Mark quest.

To solo ^^^ mobs you generally want a caster pet on a tight leash or no pet at all.

When I talk about the mob's charm script, it really does make a huge difference. You can charm 2 different wizard mobs in the same zone and 1 will rock while the other sucks, all due to their script. Same for priest mobs. I find I tend to like wardens the best, as they tend to have the best scripts, but some fury or inquisitor mobs do pretty well also. Most charmed animal/beast mobs are fighters or scouts, but some of the drakes can be pretty nice, like in TT for example. They have true ae's, though, so can be dicey to use in crowded areas.

Biggest thing about pets is that part of the fun is finding ones that you like. Some are better known for being "good pets" than others, and are listed in the wiki. Some pets in instances do % based damage and are pretty OP as a result, but most of them have been nerfed or made uncharmable. Such is the life of a coercer

Still and all, I love the class. It's my main and my most-played toon.
