<p>I have specced into Perfectioni9st which is supposed to cut recast time in half for CAs with over 2min reuse. However, Sniper Shot which is normally 15min is only cut to 10 mins. What gives?</p>
<p>sony math.... it reads (not verbatim, cause Im not logging in to see what it says word for word, paraphrased), "abilities with cast times longer than 2 mins are sped up 50%". If they were to be "cut in half", it would read, "abilities with cast times longer than 2 mins are sped up 100%"...</p>

<p>Whatever it is, it doesn't appear to be math. heh.</p><p>If it reduced reuse timers by 50% then it should take a 15 minute reuse and take 50% of that (7.5 minutes) off of the top, leaving you with a 7.5 minute reuse timer. It never has though.</p><p>I have perfectionist and 7 points into hastened reusability (increases ability reuse speed of caster by 8.8%) and despite the seeming reduction of 58.8% my reuse on sniper has gone from 15 minutes to 9 minutes and 27 seconds. According to Earth-based math that should have left me with 6 minutes and 11 seconds for my reuse. According to my non-gnomish math I am getting a 27% reduction in reuse.</p><p>It is just more ranger mechanics that could use a little fixing, I guess.</p>

<p><span style="color: #ff9900;">It is my understanding that when applying reuse % bonuses the math works like this:</span></p><p>( Base Reuse / ( 1+ Reuse % ) ) - AA Bonuses</p><p><span style="color: #ff9900;">So perfectionist provides a 50% reduction in reuse so the math looks like this:</span></p><p>( 900 / 1.50 ) = 600</p><p><span style="color: #ff9900;">Cast speed works the similarly but the AA Bonus is applied first</span></p><p>( Base Cast - AA Bonus) / ( 1 + Cast speed )</p><p><span style="color: #ff9900;"></span></p><p><span style="color: #ff9900;">Not terribly intuitive but if 50% reduction in reuse equaled Base Cast / 2 then 100% would make it available immediately. </span></p><p><span style="color: #ff9900;">One thing to note in both cases is that you cant lower cast or reuse by more than half of the base number.</span></p>
<p>Thank you for pointing out the math, in my head I could see it but somewhere between there and the keyboard it got screwed up. </p>
<p>Jack, sniper recast will never be faster than 7 mins 30 secs., unless sony changes the reuse speed cap or lowers the ability's recast specifically. </p>

<p>I was expecting 7.5 mins but I guess real world math doesn't apply....</p><p>Just checked Storm of Arrows as well. Normally 3min recast, with Perfectionist, 2 mins. Bait and switch I say!</p>

I am not going to rebut or argue, because it may very well be how it is. I would make the following points though.</p><p>1) I do not know of anyone having anything that says it gives 100% reduction in reuse. I could be wrong.</p><p>2) Why complicate things beyond reason. If you wanted to reduce timers by 25% why not say timers reduced by 25% rather than say timers reduced by 50% and then do some backwards crap like this. Reduction means something simple. 50% means something simple. Recuction by should still be simple.</p><p>3) A cap is fine and it would make sense for me to be over the cap on sniper for example with both perfectionist and hastened reusability active, but that does not appear to be the case. </p><p>4) My final point would be that as far as our combat arts being affected by this, there are very very few. 2 or 3? Neither of the two it originally affected for rangers adds up to much zonewide anyway. For an endline ability to increase something that is 2% of my damage so much that it is 2.1% of my damage is just stupid. </p>

That should get you down to below nine and a half minutes.</span></p><p><span style="color: #ff9900;">And to your final point rangers only have 3 abilities that are affected by this. Sniper Shot, Storm of Arrows and the AA ability Arrow Barrage. I honestly took it less for the effect on Sniper and more for reuse on Storm of Arrows and Arrow Barrage.</span></p>
