I really want to stick to one character and put all my effort into it. The problem is, I simply cannot decide which one.

I mainly solo and group. Occasional raiding is an ultimate goal but will never be something I'll focus on.

Anyway, my journey so far:

I played a defiler to 58. Liked him a lot, however, they were extremely slow at soloing and their cast times could be frustrating.

Then went on to play a paladin to 78. Awesome soloer, awesome tank. What I didn't like was the huuuge mana drain on their DPS. I love to play tanks because most of them solo well, but my main problem with them is that you only need one in a group, and there are a lot of tanks on Antonia Bayle.

Went on to play a coercer. Got him to 35, when I heard how bad charm and mezz would become at 90, so I shelfed him.

Tried the assassin and got him to 30. Simply hate going into stealth over and over and over. Got frustrated and quit playing him.

Made a wizard, played him to 48, and I really like him. The only problem I have with him is how often I die because they really aren't good at soloing. I spend a lot of time killing nameds solo and I do enjoy the occasional solo dungeon crawl. The wizard simply sucked at this. I did love to see the big crits though.

So I went on to try the warden. Played him to 28 and got about 60 AA. Excellent soloer, but not sure if healing is my thing. Besides, I pretty much assume their DPS will get a lot worse once I'd reach 90. Also suffer somewhat from the tank problem: only one per group in general.

Now I created a necromancer. They apparently solo really well, but DOTs aren't really my thing, their AA trees looked boring, and micromanaging pets often drives me nuts.

So for the love of god, what am I to do? I seriously want to stick to one character, but I can't make up my mind on which one. I'll mainly be grouping with a templar and conjuror, but filling the last spots with pickups won't really be a problem.

I'd appreciate any comments or advice, whatever you have to say.

Try an SK - Shadowknight - combo of tank, dps, heals - they even have Feign Death!

Or alternatively solo a berserker, if you work hard at it, you'd be surprised at how much you can solo.

If you put your first AA in Yaulp (the first thing in the cleric tree) and then go down the battle priest line in the Inquisitor tree I think you'll be happy. The inquisitor can solo very well. Can put out consistently good DPS with combat arts (you won't be casting a lot of spells). They are welcome in groups (even though you will group with the templar you both will still contribute nicely). They don't die much (once you are done with the battle priest line in the inquis tree go down the STR line in the cleric tree and you can't be interrupted while standing still). They typically do not have power issues if you stick to one role (in your group you would be DPS/Tank, the other cleric would be healing). You wear plate and a shield and can reactive heal, making you a good enough tank for your group. With a second healer in your default group this is amplified.

Because you like killing named and dungeon crawling consider being a Kerra, Half Elf or Wood Elf (you would start as a Templar and Betray at about 20). These three races receive tracking as a racial trait.

If you can get over the power issues (scale back your dmg a bit, only use power efficient CA, ectra) then the SK is also a nice fit for your requirements.

Kerra inquisitor for all the reasons above, plus no need to betray and you get safefall (even better than slowfall with some skill in it), and an incombat additional sprint that is extremely good.

Inquy are decent dps when specced that way, not bad healers at all, extrememly survivable, good mana management, and very powerful in pvp if you want to battleground later on.

My current main being a warden, I'd have to say that he is my favorite class to play. I would forget about spell dps and go straight for the melee counterparts via AA's. Done right, warden's can be a power-house for both group healing and soloing heroics but gaining that power relies heavily on AA's.

My advice if you decide to go warden is to focus on your healing aspects first. Only AA I'd recommend maxing in that area is Wild Regeneration in the Druid tab "AGI" line. Have to go through 8 AA's of suck (well the animal mez is okay but the charm isn't worth dragging to a hotbar) to get it but personally, I'd say it's worth it and any warden or fury should have WR maxed.

I'd go Shadowknight.

you're missing a tank in you're group and they're not always that easy to find. With the 3 of you, you can add utility or dps to the remaining last spots and in some instances it wont be required.

Shadowknight is a good start. The class has an good amount of taunts and damage. They have high hitting spells. I have one myself and she is all the way to 41. Fun and fast class to play. Definitely worth trying!

My advice... don't even try to stick with one class. It sounds like you have alt-itis, and there is no cure.

There's a guild i've seen on my server called <Alt Aholics> (I don't belong to it)

I've 12 or so i play consistently ranging from 25-88, two are over 80 and three crafters over 80 (1 is 90)

Personally, i wouldn't have it any other way

I do have to second the alt itis comments in this thread.

I have a Inquis, Druid, Mystic (I like healers), SK, Swashy, Necro. I've not decided my 7th class.

The only way to level is to keep all your chars and play whatever flavor grabs your fancy.

Charm is and always has been a solo spell, and it rocks for that, yes, even at 90.

Mez has NEVER been the focus of a coercer. Illy's mez, we stun. That said, we CAN mez, and it does have its uses on occasion (certain named in the Vigilant zones come to mind), but it has always been situational from the day that the game went live.

You're seriously basing your enjoyment of a class on something you "heard" happens at 90 and which is an extremely small part of the class anyway? Coercers pwn, ESPECIALLY at level 90.
