I had this issue a long time ago, never got it resolved. I quit around when TSO came out, I've reinstalled a new version of windows (7), installed EQ2 and resubscribed and am still having it...

All the textures on the Qeynos guild hall exteriors are white... the bumpmap textures seem to load, as you can see the walls, but they are pure white... same thing with the grass... completely white. This also affects when you see the guildhall in a distance in Antonica.

My original post is here: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...64

Here are pictures of the problem:http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4060...4c9b58b4b_b.jpghttp://farm2.static.flickr.com/1265...365d96ab6_b.jpg

I also noticed the following errors in the alert log (refer to the original post for a full list of errors, but these are a few, they seem to reference the texture DDS files, these errors still occur when I look at my current alert.log:

build="SOEBuild=5202L" version="SOEVersionString=2008/11/3 11:14:02" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="antonica" loc="441.14 -37.38 821.06" performance="7" alert="E:liveeq2frameworkresmansrcResourceManager.cpp(167: Error loading cooked/interiors/sourceimages/exp04_soga/qey_guildhall/generic/overlay/grass_over01_oa.dds"build="SOEBuild=5202L" version="SOEVersionString=2008/11/3 11:14:02" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="qey_guildhall_tier3" loc="665.43 -35.90 1485.44" performance="7" alert="E:liveeq2frameworkresmansrcTextureResource.cpp(50) : Failed to open dds texture cooked/interiors/sourceimages/exp04_soga/qey_guildhall/generic/alpha/pattern_02_a.dds"build="SOEBuild=5202L" version="SOEVersionString=2008/11/3 11:14:02" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="qey_guildhall_tier3" loc="665.43 -35.90 1485.44" performance="7" alert="E:liveeq2frameworkresmansrcResourceManager.cpp(167: Error loading cooked/interiors/sourceimages/exp04_soga/qey_guildhall/generic/alpha/pattern_02_a.dds"build="SOEBuild=5202L" version="SOEVersionString=2008/11/3 11:14:02" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="qey_guildhall_tier3" loc="665.43 -35.90 1485.44" performance="7" alert="E:liveeq2frameworkresmansrcTextureResource.cpp(50) : Failed to open dds texture cooked/interiors/sourceimages/exp04_soga/qey_guildhall/generic/overlay/wall_base01_o.dds"build="SOEBuild=5202L" version="SOEVersionString=2008/11/3 11:14:02" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="qey_guildhall_tier3" loc="665.43 -35.90 1485.44" performance="7" alert="E:liveeq2frameworkresmansrcResourceManager.cpp(167: Error loading cooked/interiors/sourceimages/exp04_soga/qey_guildhall/generic/overlay/wall_base01_o.dds"build="SOEBuild=5202L" version="SOEVersionString=2008/11/3 11:14:02" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="qey_guildhall_tier3" loc="665.43 -35.90 1485.44" performance="7" alert="E:liveeq2frameworkresmansrcTextureResource.cpp(50) : Failed to open dds texture cooked/interiors/sourceimages/exp04_soga/qey_guildhall/generic/alpha/grass_base02_a.dds"build="SOEBuild=5202L" version="SOEVersionString=2008/11/3 11:14:02" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="qey_guildhall_tier3" loc="665.43 -35.90 1485.44" performance="7" alert="E:liveeq2frameworkresmansrcResourceManager.cpp(167: Error loading cooked/interiors/sourceimages/exp04_soga/qey_guildhall/generic/alpha/grass_base02_a.dds"build="SOEBuild=5202L" version="SOEVersionString=2008/11/3 11:14:02" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="qey_guildhall_tier3" loc="665.43 -35.90 1485.44" performance="7" alert="E:liveeq2frameworkresmansrcTextureResource.cpp(50) : Failed to open dds texture cooked/interiors/sourceimages/exp04_soga/qey_guildhall/generic/overlay/wall_moss04_o.dds"

I have done the following so far (probably more than just this, but it's all I can think of)

1) copied over a new copy of EQ2 from my wifes computer, who the halls work fine for (in case it was a corrupt file)2) deleted all the qeynos_guildhall files and let EQ2 redownload them all3) moved everquest over to a different drive and redownloaded all the guildhall files (in case it was a bad drive)4) ran a memory tester (in case it was bad memory)5) pulled the video card from my wife's computer and tested it in case it was my video card6) Reinstalled windows... originally had this problem in XP, now am still having it on a new Windows 7 installation7) unpacked the DDS files that are giving the error in the alert.log and opened them in photoshop... they load fine so it appears to be reading correctly.

Now thats a brain-twister for sure.

So far youve ruled out: game, directx, drivers, and os installation, video card hardware and memory.

next would be:

videocard bios updates? - when you said, tested her card, I take it her card also showed up white on your computer as well?

If both cards come up white but both render textures in her computer - any mainboard bios / chipset updates?

Actually, I finally just reinstalled the game from the SF discs, and now all is working... which is strange since I copied over a working EQ2 directory already.

Ahh ok, so you never did reinstall eq2 as noted in the first post - but did a "copy over". This is noramlly fine but can cause wonky side-effects like what you got.

Troubleshooting a computer is like going to the doctors, we need all the information we can get to make a proper diagnosis; what seems insignificant at the time might end up being the root of the problem.

Glad you got it working though
