View Full Version : Vrewwx -- 2 combat modes, no "concede"?

We were looking at the Vrewwx fight, and the dialogue tree seems to have three options: there's one that leads to challenge mode, one that leads to normal mode, and then several ways to get to the point where he offers a reward if you leave him in peace. However this last method doesn't seem to actually do anything... you agree to take such a reward and leave him be and the dialogue ends, but then nothing happens.

Is this is a bug, or is this just misleading text and there is no non-fight mode for the encounter? We ran out of time to actually take any serious pulls on him and wanted to see what the "concede" loot was like, since IIRC it was stated that there is a non-combat way of finishing the Vrewwx encounter.

You have to fight him. Normal mode is considered canon to the story.

I will take a look at the dialog and make sure it makes sense.

That's really strange because the normal mode was the option to concede and not fight him or you could choose to fight the challenge mode. At least that was how it was at launch. Even Gninja stated so in the test forums.

Gninja wrote:

Yes in the normal mode you challenge him you do not attempt to kill him.

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...=477156#5306666

When you hail him, you can go the first way where you basically say you're going to kill him (that's challenge mode) or you initially offer to compromise but then still demand a reward for getting that far (and that's when you fight him for normal mode).

But with those two aside, dialogue choices other than those lead to one where he basically offers you a reward if you leave him alone and agree to leave. But when you accept that, conversation ends and nothing happens, which doesn't make sense with the text. The other options to get out of the dialog are more along the lines of "we back down" or "Let us think about it" which do make sense.

Funny thing is that even if you do the hard version and attempt to kill him, he still reverts to a small baby instead of dying.
