I have an attack bar (tells me when a weapon hits). When I use two weapons, sometimes the bar splits in two and it looks like the weapons are on different timers. When this happens it's almost impossible to get a spell, or combat art, off without blocking at least one of the weapons damage.

It seems to me that it would be better to just use one weapon, that I know is actually doing damage. Or don't I understand what's going on? Thanks for any help.

Oh, I'm using a dagger (3 second delay) in main hand, and mastercrafted longsword (5 second delay) in off hand.

If you have 2 weapons with different delays, you will have 2 auto attack bars. You need to get 2 weapons with the same delay. Otherwise you will have a tough time timing your AA and CA's/Spells.

Also, a 4 second delay is close to optimal for dps. It gives you time to get off 2-3 CA's/Spells inbetween each AA.

Yup your primary and secondary need to be the same speed. With a haste item like T3 gloves for example, you should see both weapons at around 2.0ish delay. When both of your weapons are 1 speed you will see only one melee autoattack bar instead of two. Makes timing your CA's much easier. Remember a large source of your dps comes from that autoattack. So you want the timing to be perfect. If you interupt the autoattack by casting a CA you lose out on 50% or more of your parse potential. So timing is essential. And the best way to do that is to have two exact speed weapons.
