I recently had a Hard-Drive Crash, it was my C drive (Luckily I keep Everquest 2 and other important info on a seperate Pysical Drive)

My issue is that while I have a new shortcut set up, I do not think I have it pointing to the correct file to start the game (Note: the game is on D drive).

If the original patcher go to the everquest2 directory, find the original executable (can't rememebr the executable name been using Station launcher for to long), right click and send to desktop as shortcut.

I think the shortcut is missing a few bits of the address but I can't find the exe.

I wish C Drive hadn't crashed.

Current Shortcut---> D:SonyEverQuest2.exe

I'm thinking the one who reformatted my C drive has my Shortcut pointed to the incorrect .exe program (The reason the dame didn't do it itself is that the Drive the game ACTUALLY IS ON was untouched by the crash) Does anyone have any ideas?

If it helps, the target of my shortcut is:

"C:GamesSony Online EntertainmentEverQuest IIEQ2.exe"

which starts the EQII Launch Pad. Do you have the game installed directly in the Sony folder or in it's own EverQuest II folder? Try searching for EQ2.exe and, once you find it, change your shortcut to point to EQ2.exe instead of EverQuest2.exe. Other than that, if you still have issues with running the game it may be easier to just re-install the game!

It might help I found the EQ2 launcher but for some reason the uplading of the launcher tells me it wast to completely redownload the game which I do not need.

I have D:SonyEQ2.exe

and YUP it wanting to RE-download the whole game. I cancled the download because I have only been out of the game for about a week there should not be that many updateds.

D:SonyEQ2EQ2.exe is working better and my characters are listed , I figure the test server will have a slightly longer download because of Tinkerfest testing.

I would guess that the launcher wants to redownload the game because you're missing vital registry information. When your hard drive crashed you would also have lost the Windows Registry which had all the details on all your installed software. However you recovered from that hard drive crash (formatted the hard drive or installed a new hard drive) you would have re-installed Windows. So now, as far as Windows is concerned, you do not have EQII installed, even though you still have your originally installed version of the game intact on your D drive. I suspect your only real option at this point is to simply re-install the game.

No it was pointed at the outter area of the Sony area rather then the subfolder. once I switched it just downloaded the LON stuff and was good to go. Test server still might be an issue.
