I'm a little annoyed, I just bought EQ2 for 39.99 and I can't down load it; every time I click the link it times out. I'm using Road Runner Turbo, and my PC is hooked to a router as well.

Check your firewall to make sure its not blocking it. Also turn off/snooze your anti-virus while you download, some anti-virus programs used to not play nice with EQ2. If you are still having problems click on the support forums link near the top of the forums and post your problem there. The tech guys are very helpful.

Unzipped? That doesn't sound right! Be *very* sure that the file you got was from an official SOE source! I don't recall any of the installation files being zipped, ever.

There are a couple of different launchers for EQ2, all available here: Non-Disk Installations of EverQuest II "Launchpad.exe" would be the launcher itself.

Once you have the launcher downloaded, you run it, and it will coordinate the download and updates for the main game files (which are a BIG download). The streaming launcher will download in the background as you play, the others download everything up-front.

You may need to right-click and Run As Administrator to get any of the game files to play well (that's Vista's fault, not the game).

You also need certain ports available for EQ2 to communicate with its servers. There is a good list of them here: Port information for Everquest 2 -- You may need to tell yoru firewall and/or router to allow communication via these ports.

If none of this avails, then you may need to ask for specific help in the Connection Support forum.
