Linking items not working for me properly

<p>Or drag the icon from inside the item's info window to the chat bar.  Not thrilled with the change either.</p>

<p>I used to be willing to answer the "Can someone link X item" requests in chat no matter what I was doing - I could just drag it from my inventory to chat. Now I have to right-click, open the examine window, then shift-click to get the link into the chat window.</p><p>I'd love to know the reasoning behind the change in how linking works. If it's giving us some huge benefit that's great, but if not I'd rather have the way it used to be.</p>

<p>You can still shift-click the item in your inventory to get it to pop a link in chat.  Tho sometimes I have to shift-click a couple times.</p><p>I wish there was an easier way to link tradeskill products tho, if someone wants me to link them an Expert spell I can make, I have to examine the recipe, then examine the final product, then shift-click its picture.  Just shift-clicking the recipe would be nice.</p>

<p>Actually, my linking problems were suddenly fixed recently.  I was having mucho problems with links from items not in inventory going into wrong chat windows and since the last hotfix they are working perfectly again <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />.  Then again, I've never used the drag into chat method of linkage, I've always just shift-clicked the item in inventory or the icon/picture in the examine window.</p>

<p>There are multiple ways to make this work. All my old methods still work.</p><p>The issue is as someone above mentioned: sometimes the link will go into the chat window, but it is just text that looks like a link, not an actual link. Clicking it does nothing. [Potion of Power] that is not clickable, just text.</p>

It is now.</p></blockquote><p>It was broken for many people.  There's several threads about the old problems.  However, hopefully it was unintentional that the fix changed the default "drag to chat" option that it seems many used.</p>

I didn't notice a change at all because i have always shift-clicked on the picture to get the link. Heck I didn't even knwo you could drag it into your chat line, and it was only a couple of months ago I realized that you could just click it as well, tho out of habit I still shift-clicked.</p>

<p>Well as far back as I can remember, I could just left-click the icon in the info window to link the item until this month.  Personally liked that method of linking.</p>
