Hello

Hubby built me a computer a bit back after my wonderful Gateway died that was a dual core. The new one is a quad core, windows 7 64bit, asus mother board, 4 gigs of memory, ATI5750 graphics card. While I waited for us to have the money for a new computer and for the pieces to come in I don't know if I just forgot or never noticed it before but now on the new computer I noticed while objects come into view I notice now a sharp change in contracts on the walls, rocks, the pine trees, etc. Is this normal? I know if I turn up the complex shadder it helps ALOT with the texture changeing on the rocks, sides of mountains especially in SF in the area of the Petrified Badlands near the Old Panieel Ruins. I know that if I turn up some bias thing it helps with the texture changeing on the trees, benchs and walls. I am scared to death to turn anything up because I don't want to hurt my new graphics card. (If someone could recommend what setting I can set the game to would be a big help.) Also I noticed that the Level of Detail Bias at the highest setting does not go any higher then 1.000, but yet can be adjusted to 0.100. If I went Max (0.100) or even (0.500) on this would it hurt my video card?

I also remember when I first got my dual processor that I intially had a speed bug that a wonderful SOE tech helped stop by turning off one of the cores, so I am wondering if I turn off 2 of the 4 cores if that would help? How do I turn them off with a quad core and windows 7? For the life of me I can't remember how I use to turn off 1 of the cores on my dual core.

Thank you for your time
