Game client hangs up when entering Timorous Deep

<p>Ever since the June 3 maintenance, I have been having issues entering Timorous Deep. </p><p>3 times out of 5, I would be stuck at the "Loading Environment Map..."  screen.  I have had no problems before the maintenance, nor do I have problems with logging on to characters who logged out in other places such as Frostfang Seas, or Butcherblock Mountains. </p><p>All the others steps went by quite fast (Loading zone, creating entities, etc), it is stuck at the exact same "environment map" every time.  When this happens, the application stops responding.  I cannot neither click on "Exit" at the bottom left, nor close the window.  The only way to close the game client is to force a shutdown of the application through Windows Task Manager.</p><p>I don't have other programs running other than IE, and rebooting does not always seem to help.</p><p>Can someone please check is if something is wrong with TD?</p>

<p>Update: Client hung up 4 times out of 6 now when trying to log in to a character in TD.</p><p>Also the screen it got stuck at is "Updating environment map..." not "Loading environment map"</p>

<p>I had this issue as well. When you launch the game, drop your graphic settings to low and you should be able to load Timorous Deep.</p>

<p>This is a bit frustrating, as TD is the only zone that causes this issue.  I have had 2 different characters encountering this issue in Mok Rent of TD.  The problem seems to occur the most when switching characters, causing me to have to kill the EQ2 client and then restart it.  As soon as those characters are out of the zone, I can log them in just fine using the same graphics setting.</p>

<p>for what it is worth.  I am having the exact same problem.</p><p>I logged out of the game yesterday while in Mok Rent in Timorous Deep, and now I am unable to log in because my game hangs on "updating environment map...".</p><p>Seems this is a known issue.  Maybe the game should force me to a different location when I try to log out in Mok Rent rather than let me log out there knowing full well that my kill my ability to log back in...</p><p>edit:  also.  lowering the game to low display settings fixed the problem for me as well.</p>

<p>well.  this certainly resolves the question of whether or not my character will be making her permanent home in TD.  I'm moving out of this place and never coming back when I am done with these last few quests.  :p</p>

<p>[Removed for Content].  I just got burned by this issue.  Shouldn't it have been fixed by now?  Mok Rent in Timorous Deep.  I logged out and now can't log back in.</p>

<p>I have the same issue for two days now.</p><p>A full file scan seems to fix it (sometimes).</p><p>.. a real PIA.</p>

<p>Well I'm now burned by this issue too as my guild hall is in TD.  This has started since last weeks update during the week of Oct 4th. </p>

<p>This issue is getting to the point of TD being **unplayable.**</p><p>Full file scan sometimes works; at other times it hangs.</p><p>Other times, I can get the toon in and then crash to desktop.</p><p>Are there any updates from dev?</p>
