Are they the same exact errors? Where you have heard from Multiple people and multiple sources, I see multiple people in game without issue...

The best thing to do is to read *** Read before posting ***and see what info you can post from your system to help other posters or the TSR to try to help you solve this...

Now, according to Kiara, there is some wonkiness happening today though.

Account Services and Commerce Maintenance - Thursday, June 3, 2010

ok now thats interesting. as you can see the version string is rather old. apparently this crash has happened prior to me patching, which i did yesterday. AFTER patching+full filescan i continued to receive crashes, but no new crashlogs were written. the above quoted log is from eq2_crash_old.log, but there is no eq2_crash.log file.

meh... first of all, why the heck cant we edit our own posts directly after writing them? :/

---- EDIT --- thanks for reenabling edits

secondly, looking at the time of the crash - its from the LAST crash happening to me, which definitely happened a whole day after patching. so now my guess is that the current patch has a really old versionstring, which is probably not causing the issue tho.

this is really annoying me - crashing 1-3 times per raid. let me sum up where ive crashed now:

- in underfoot depths while fighting and also while standing around with the whole raid (had a coffee break)

- in palace of roehn theer while fighting maalus imbued and roehn theer himself

- in perah celsis' abominable laboratory while fighting waansu

- in the open/contested hole dungeon on in both the caertax and elementals wing while fighting. (ONLY zone i crashed in while not raiding)

there were probably more things but these are the ones i remember

What dose your application log say in windows? "Control Panel > Admin tools > Event Viewer > Application"

When you mentioned crashing on those raid fights the first thing that popped into my head was that those were heavy scripped fights, but then you said you did crash when running solo in the Hole. The next logical step was running "http://hcidesign.com/memtest/MemTest.zip", which you did, so thats good. You maynot have bad memory, but perhaps just running out or memory? How much physical memory do you have? Whats your vurtual memory size set to? When EQ2 is running, how much memory is it using?

i did post the windows event crap in my initial posting up top

4GB physical memory (also stated in my initial posting), pagefile is obviously disabled and eq2 uses 1.4GB memory max, adding firefox and other minor stuff ive never had more than a total of 2.5GB memory used (well - apart from dualboxing, but im not boxing while raiding obviously)

Enable the pagefile, but just set it to 1024MB (min and max) since you have so much physical. 2048 would be better but 1024 should give you a good test. Why? A lot of programs prefer you to still have a pagefile even though you have enough physical to cover it numbers wise. There are other programs that also crash without a pagefile enabled, Photoshop, Maya, to name a few off my head. For poops and giggles, set it to the above and see if you still crash.

Yup just give it a shot and see what happens. Things can creep up like this even with a single patch, we never know whats being changed on the backend; which may or maynot include how the memory is being handled. Something was changed in the last patch since a lot of people are having issues with performance. This might be part of the issue, in that the game is now writting (or pointing) too something in the pagefile that it later needs but by not having a pagefile the data goes to NULL; thus causing a crash upon retrieval. Remember, we are only told about the updates that effect stuff ingame, and only rarely about backend stuff. But again just worth a shot, if the crashes continue, then it can get eliminated from a list of suspects. just part of the troubleshooting process Not too long ago I helped someone else with a crashing issue and it came down to their memory not running in dual channel mode. doh!I know how you feel though, I'd prefer not to run a pagefile myself. :-/
