Can somebody please help me on my game. I seem to have a terrible lag where for example, if I jump on a horse in Kelethin to get to another stable master, once I arrive at my destination, I am sitting on the horse still for 5 mins, then the stable master arrives and I end up on my feet again. Another time I was taking the road to the Lesser Faydark and I arrived at a stone wall and sat there for 10 mins till the other area finally opened up. But in the meantime, I was having "kelethin" roll up, then "road to Lesser Faydark" while I was sitting waiting for the area to open up.

I thought it may have been my computer, but my wife is having the same issue and my brother in law who lives an hours drive from us is having the same issue. The lag has been going for almost 24 hours now, and I left it last night thinking it was something to do with the game itself and I scoured the boards here to see if anyone else is having the same problem.

What can I do to rectify this problem, it is very annoying.

I must admit I have not experienced lag anything like that (the worst I've had is a bit of sluggishness in Sundered Highlands when Sentinels Fate first launched although there were around 400-500 people in sundered frontier) on Runnyeye, 5 minutes is a very long time too. The first question is, what server are you playing on? Do you get the same lag problem playing on other servers?(As I guess the first thing to do is to find out if its your local connection, or a server side problem. Also this question probably best belongs in the support forums where there are some SOE technical people who look into these sorts of problems).

Your best bet is to post more info about your set up...

*** Read before posting *** has some ideas on what to post

Also there are some guides out there to help with tweaking it up a bit ...

The Complete Guide to Display Settings Options Boost performance and reduce stuttering guide!

I will also move this into the tech support forums for better assistance

Hi, I'm tag-teaming Goldenblue here.. I'm his wife and trying to fix this issue while he's away.

I've isolated the issue.. its our Router. I'm not sure why my brother is having the same issue, but its most definitely the router thats causing our issue. We bought a new router (netgear dg834 wired) and had issues finding the internet service with it so we rang iinet and they managed to get things going after about an hour and a half. We changed so many settings in there I don't know whats what any more. The net seems to be working fine, but eq2 is not playable. I know for sure it is the router as I swapped back to the old one today (netgear dg834pn with wireless) in desperation and eq2 is working perfectly again. As much as I'd like this to be a permenant solution its not because the old router is dodgy and while its happy to work today it might not tomorrow.

Can anyone tell me what settings I should be looking at in the wired router in order to get things working with the equipment thats not going to pack up on me?

Many thanks

Zaggy

i can't tell you what setting it is.. but i had one of those routers in our office once and had the same problem after upgrading to the latest firmware (everything else worked fine except eq2) after i dropped back to an older firmware eq2 worked perfectly again.
