After a while not playing I thought I'd play for a while again and see the new city and starting zone.

It worked once for about 5 minutes and then crashed, and now it crashes every time before even getting into the game.

It worked reliably before this latest patch (Last played about 2 months ago)

I can't play at all any more. has anyone got any suggestions what I can do to fix this?

I have been having the same problems. Under my Nvidia control panel it says to im running directx 10. Well, EQ2 only supports DirectX 9.0c August 2009 version. So It said to install that version on top of the current installed DirectX version and all files needed will be put in the correct files.

Well, I also just did a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro and my drivers were incorrect there aswell. So I installed the correct version for the compatable driver according to EQ2's compatabilty video card drivers list. And im still having problems.

My screen will go black (in game) and it will make 2 windows sounds.. (sorry dont know how to spell out what im hearing) but something like this, (dun duh, ... dun duh), then the game screen will come back on.

Then, while in groups, the game will crash completly out and it says "The EQ application has suffered an error and needs to close, windows is searching for a possible solution"

Running Windows 7 Pro

My current video card driver is an NVidia 7950 GX2 1GB GDDR3 (dual board)

I have 4 GB of DDR2

1GB of Crucial pc1000 running @ 800Mhz

1GB of Crucial pc1000 running @ 800Mhz

2GB of Corsair pc8000 running at 800Mhz
