I have Windows7 64 bit with Nvidia Geforce210 and I have the exact same problem. I'm not able to get passed the Halas screen at all, it tries different log in servers over and over again but nothing happens. It's been like this for a couple of days now. I've never had a problem with the game until now. Is it an update that effects Windows7? I'm not computer savvy, that's my boyfriend sorry if I misspelled anything.

Very odd. I am on Windows 64 bit and have had no trouble at all.

Be sure that you are right clicking and running as admin. Also if you set up exceptopns to your firewall or AV program, remove them and then add them again. This is in case the launcher changed at all in a patch, your PC may no longer recognize it.

Tried running as admin on two separate computers. One running Vista (it has played EQII before this patch without any problems) as well as my computer again. Tried disabling the firewall and tried going through and tried setting exception for firewall and configuring AV to allow pass through. Still did not work. Every time I get to the Halas screen, it goes through 9 log in servers then cycles the process.

I'm having the same issue myself. Worked fine last night... logged in this morning and can't connect. Can't connect via Station Launcher or by running it directly from the .exe file.

-I'm running Windows 7 64bit w/ an Nvidia GeForce 250.

Sadly there are some firewalls out there that try to "protect" you even when disabled. It is better all around to keep it on and add exceptions to it's list.

What server are you guys on? Maybe try posting a Tracert to get an idea of where the issue may lie?

 *** Read before posting ***

well i added EQ exe to the exception list , nothing. I turned the firewall of and still cant get past that screen. Like i say, was working perfectly before i patched it.

So ive redownloaded twice, installed to different folders and partitions.

Ran it as Admin

reinstalled gfx drivers

Added to firewall exceptions and also tried with firewall off (windows 7 built in firewall)

Set up all those ports listed in your help site on my router.

No joy. Dead game.

Anyone think of anything else i can try? I dont get the "trying login server #x" screen at all. I used to get an immediate progress bar pop up once the Title screen was loaded, now i dont get that.

well judging by the wall of silence from staff here i take it noone cares? If the fix isnt simply a reboot you dont really want to know do you. Thanks for nothing peeps. One less account i guess. You can go back to polishing your badges now, sorry to interrupt.

Passive aggression 4tw?

Here's something off the wall to try. Open a command prompt (in win7, search for cmd in your start menu, will come up cmd.exe).

Type:

ipconfig /flushdns

then

ipconfig /registerdns

There's a slim possibility that your dns cache got hosed, and it's trying to connect to servers that aren't there. The above will force your pc to talk to the dns server again rather than work with its cache.

Failing that, I would call the support people, don't rely on a forum post, and certainly don't get snarky about a lack of response.
