View Full Version : Shader 3.0 and switching between windowed and full screen

<p>Greetings:</p><p>For the most part, I like Shaders 3.0 - and would like to be able to use them. However, I am have significant issues switching from full screen to windowed versions of the game - the switch takes minutes now instead of a second or two. Is this expected? Using Windows 7 on a ATI Radeon HD 4670 1GB with an AMD Phenom II X4 810 and 8 GB of RAM.</p><p>Thanks!</p><p>GB</p>

<p>So, given that I got no response...</p><p>I solved this by installing an updated version of the ATI Catalyst drivers. Problem was that those would not install (no response from ATI on that, either). I finally figured out that the problem with the driver update was due to a DLL incompatability with the C++ runtime redistributable that they use in the installer. Now that I have 10.5 drivers on my computer, the shader 3.0 issue with moving between full screen and windowed versions of the application appears to be resolved.</p><p>For those with ATI cards and problems with installing driver updates through a "catalyst manager has stopped working" error, you might want to look here for a solution:</p><p><a href="http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961894">http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961894</a></p><p>Geoffrey</p>

<p>same problem here ... 10.6 drivers are not working shader3.0 full->windowed takes sooo much time</p>
