Running in SM1.0 I was using around 50% GPU in game with 85-90% CPU. With SM3.0 enabled it drops my GPU to about 25-30% and maxes out 1 CPU core completely (all numbers from Everest). It seems the SM3.0 update actually shifts away from the GPU more and adds added pressure to the CPU. Can anyone confirm this? How's it running for you all?

Intel Q9650 3.0GHz overclocked to 3.4GHz

EVGA 780i SLI FTW

XFX Radeon HD5870 1GB factory OC'ed 900MHz core/1250MHz VRAM.

4x 2GB Corsair Dominator DDR2-1066

1920x1200 LCD with EQ2 in windowed mode.

Must be why people are getting low fps?

Well, I used Everest (as stated in my OP). But any monitoring software will do. Just watch your GPU and CPU usage while playing in SM3.0 and SM1.0 and see if the balance of power shifts towards the CPU running SM3.0 or not. Because if it is, the devs really screwed up. The SM3.0 option was suppose to be designed to shift the graphics power from the CPU back to the GPU like it's suppose to be. EQ2 is already CPU heavy.
