I can't speak for the other tiers, but in the 40s, in my opinion, the relic hits way too hard (compared to the 90s).

The relic damage is based on a flat % of the carrying player's max health. Then with every tick, the % values slowly increases. I'd say that you either experienced people who's health was too high or healers who weren't using at least Expert+ heal abilities. In either situation for a lower level BG, it'll end up badly.

ahhhh...

I think I see the problem.. My inq is fully mastered, but he is also got some... um... good gear. He is also a level 90 TS, so he has some traits that are +hps and stuff... I bet that is what it is.

Too many HPs for the heals to keep up. Everytime I picked that thing up, I would die within 1min or so spamming heals.

As a regular ball carrying Brigand in the 90th bracket, I expect to die. A really good healer may be able to stall it for a few minutes, but that can't stop the inevitable.

But in your situation, I'd suggest that you let a gear level appropriate character grab the relic. While it's easier if the healer has it, you should be able to heal an average 40's tank much better. Even a defensively spec'ed scout should do just fine.

Curiousity question. Are you able to use the SF crafting epic weapon in the BG system? I'm tempted to level up the crafting level on one of my alts for that reason.

Dont have it - I did most of my TSing before that sort of stuff was ever around... I just grinded 80-90 when i came back recently.

Yeah, I did have an easier time healing the tanks. Much easier, in fact.

Then a FYI. Do all of the crafting quests amongst the SF factions. Once you finish the final quest in the Quel'the quest chain, you'll get a mailing exactly 7 Days later (to the minute). It involves some running around, enter the Void crafting mission instance to talk a NPC, some more running, and crafting an item (which requires a Kaborite Cluster to start the combine). Completing this process will replace your spent crafting rare and will give you a special weapon.

The weapon checks off of your crafter level. It has a clicky Evac every 20 minutes. And not only does it look really cool (since they're special for each crafting class), but it has the auto attack damage rate of a weapon around 70th level.

I don't believe you can actually use that weapon in combat at a low level. My wife has a level 90 carpenter level 12 monk and she gets the message she lacks the skill to use the weapon when she tries to use it in combat.

The weapon should work since it operates on your crafter level. In LDL general chat, I've heard crafters who are in their 40's talk about how they're mowing through PvE mobs left and right with those things.
