I recently purchased a new CPU, Compaq Presario, 3GB RAM Windows 7 all specs look good, all software updates have been run(including optional)

I have been playing EQ2 on this CPU for 2days, now after the Halas update, I cannot update EQ2 therefor I cannot play. I do not use this CPU for anything else other than EQ2, I haven't downloaded anything, I have disabled firewall, disabled norton, nothing is running in the background. I launch the station launcher and it takes a moment to start the update. After the update starts I make it about 10-16% into it and get this error

There was a problem moving C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempEverQuest2.exe_delta_9231_330.patched to C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIEverQuest2.exe. Please make sure the game is not running.

Station launcher will try again after 5 seconds.

It then just loops over and over again...any idea's?

I have a screen shot of the error, I just don't know how to attach it.

What I have done:

1. Remove C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempEverQuest2.exe_delta_9231_330.patched Still got the same error

2. Launch C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIEverQuest2.exe. It say's the version no longer exist, please relaunch the launcher and update the client.

I only run in ADMIN, what is the patcher? I am using the built in patcher...I put in the EQ2 install DVD's installed it, then doubled click the icon on my desktop. I don't use any other updater than that.

*Sorry for the double post

I got it to work, I right clicked station launcher, check compatibility problems, run program, didn't work then it asked if I wanted to run as administrator I said yes and of coarse accepted it, then it appeared to work....Not sure if it was launching the station launcher in admin or what. But regardless the EQ2 icon(which is linked to the launcher) wouldn't work.

BTW It did say there were no compatibility problems.

So the problem is existent on my other CPU as well now....

Vista 2GB RAM

Has been working for weeks, and now it will not get past

There was a problem moving C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempEverQuest2.exe_delta_9231_330.patched to C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIEverQuest2.exe. I have tried running as admin(everyone always says that to fix issues in vista/7, never works) Disabled firewall, dumped that folder and launched without it, put it back, still nothing.

Tips please?

I found a fix, I have tested it on both comps and it works!

First go to C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_temp

Then drag the EverQuest2.exe_delta_9231_330.patched file to your desktop

While it is on your desktop go to C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIEverQuest2.exe.

It will ask for your login, then will say this client's version doesn't match the server.(at this point I am guessing it realizes it needs the update)

Put the EverQuest2.exe_delta_9231_330.patched back in the C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_temp folder

Re-launch EQ2 station launcher it should then work.
