ok what the heck is with this PvP crit mit??? isn't that in the toughness? crit mit adornments on the BG gear should be for PvE encounters. see i play an SK. i have a life. i do not like to raid. BG was a blessing for me cause i can get some great gear without haven to rely on others to build a raid and i can earn BG gear on my own time. its rare that i am on for any real amount of time during prime raid hours. BUT STILL... Those quick instances that i would like to run through are death for me without PvE crit mit.

the BG gear is comparable to end game raid gear (almost) in BG. and the fear and respect earned from players in BG is lost in PvE cause we can not even survive the basic instance mobs.

like i said i do not like raiding. too many ppl too much time and a cramp on my real life. this would make it to where just because someone isn't a raider they are not held back from the rest of the game.

why is it that i can tank library like nothing but when i go just a bit harder its embarasing? crit mit.

having a PvE crit mit adorn would mean that the person will not be as strong in BG or PvE as they can be if they raided (PvE) or had nothing but BG gear with BG adorns (BG), yet the person will be just strong enough to not only enjoy the games content but they will be able to enjoy MORE of the games content.

think about it.

MAKE A BG ADORNMENT FOR PvE CRIT MIT.

First off, SOE already made a flat out statement that the Blue adornments are PvP Only. This was likely to silence the anti-BG crowd amongst the PvE players.

Having said that, do you realize that you'll need the +Critical Mitigation adornments? Right now, PvE raiders are mauling the people in full PvP gear. These Blue adornments are supposed to help us BG / PvP players close that gap. Yet to make matters worse, the +Potency window was uncapped. So now all of the PvE raider dps is going to see a noticeable jump. Our only response is to be able to survive the initial damage and be able to kill them. It's a situation of one team having a strong offense, so the other team counters with a strong defense.

----------

timetravelling wrote:Toughness reduces the amount of damage you take in PvP combat by a flat percentIn addition, it grants 1.5x that % amount as critical mitigation (so a full set also grants 60% crit mit)Vs a level 80, 40% (the cap) is 440 ToughnessVs a level 90, 40% requires 600 ToughnessWith that info and a bit of math, you should be able to figure out the bonuses any combination of gear will give! =)

----------

I saved a copy of that old post and emailed it to myself for a reason. As shown here, you're only get a max of 60% Critical Mitigation if you're in FULL Toughness gear. Though the 90th armor and jewelry will give you a nice chunck, you won't hit that 600 Toughness cap unless you're putting PvP / BG stuff into every single slot. Which any sane person wouldn't.

At 90th, you're looking at 10 pts Toughness equaling +1% Critical Mitigation and +2/3% Damage Reduction. With that in mind, it's far easier to jack up your Critical Mitigation via adornments. If a dedicated PvP / BG player wants any hope of survival, especially if you're a tank, then you'll want to load up on as much Critical Mitigation as possible.
