When ever I try to login I keep getting this error:

EQ2- No Disk

there is no disk in the drive, please insert a disk into drivedeviceharddisk1DR1.

I can click through it while it does a game scan but it takes like 150 clicks on the continue key before it gets through and starts eq2. Any Ideas why its doing this all of the sudden? Just started like a week ago. Before that everything started up great. I didnt add anything new to my computer, no new programes or software nothing, that I can think of unless my kids downloaded something that I dont see..

PLease any help is good =]

Faylyne-Guk server

I have run into a similar problem with the update today. I use the streaming updater. Evertime I load the patcher, it gives me an option to "update", it scans, and updates, to 100%, then, the green button, says update instead of play. 4.8mb needed. You click it and nothing happens, keeps asking it over and over. Checked the browser, found my EQ2.exe file no longer is executable from there. Also, when running a UI update, it can no longer find the specified .exe file in my folder. Has something been ommited in the update?

I have essentially the same problem. My game was working fine and then I tried to open the broker in a guild hall and got the same pop-up on widows7. Now I can't log in with that character as whenever I do, I get that everquest2.exe - No disk. Doesn't matter if I say continue or cancel, the game then crashes. I can log in with a different character, but now who know for how long. I"m afraid to open a broker window.

Turned off Shader 3.0 while on another character and then kept hitting escape when loading in - in case the problem was because I was in the market window. One of the two - I suspect Shader 3.0 turned off, let me load in no problem.

This is the only reference I can find for this problem - even though it's quite old.

I also can not seem to make the chat function in the Tech Support area work properly either.

I use the streaming client and can not see to login today after the patch, while last night I was able to login just fine.

Ideas/suggestions?

Thanks.

We've received a few calls on this and making sure you are launching our LaunchPad as an Admin has been helping alleviate the issue. If you already have run as admin set, unset it, apply, and reset it. Do the same for any antivirus or firewall exceptions. This includes automatically set exceptions if you've ever received a Deny/Allow box when you ran our LaunchPad for the first time. For that, open Windows Firewall and remove the EQ2 exception. It will prompt you again when you launch it.

i've had this problem since going to Vista.

Recently, i stopped having it because i was trying to solve an entirely different problem.

right click on your icon you use to run the game. select properties. select the 'compatibility' tab. tell it to run as under win xp. while you're there, you can go to the security tab and click always run as administrator.

What problem were you trying to correct?

It's been awhile, several months or so, certainly - an error i was getting with the ... voice i think. i'd been here, been over other boards and one place said that just on an off chance, vista and some win7 users could get rid of some of the crashing voice server and the no-disk error by running in winxp mode. ::shrug:: Nothing else was fixing it, the tech who asked me for some specific part of the <insert large number> pages or so of crap that showed up when i ran the diagnostic totally overestimated my intellegence in figuring it out and having the attention span to do so. heh. but (knock on wood) i don't have that error running as xp. on the other hand, i did a fresh install of eq2 recently on a new drive - last month - so that could also be contributing (but not for the other 5 months)

Not sure what the compatibility mode would do for the voice service. Have you tried disabling just that option since?
