Coroyn posted he will release some lore later in the forums and in game in the future, Once the story begins to unfold but that currently when New Halas goes live there are several npcs in game delivering some hints of what is occuring. Qeynos harbor and EFP has several drunk sailors talking.

Couple of drunk sailors in QH/EFP, right near the drydock.

(1272597624)[Fri Apr 30 04:20:24 2010] You say, "Hail, A drunk sailor"(1272597624)[Fri Apr 30 04:20:24 2010] aNPC 33460 a drunk sailor:a drunk sailor/a says, "It's been a long time since we've seen any refugees from the Queen's Colony.
Thank you so much. Im sad to see the islands go, but I would be deeper saddened still if there were no "lore" explanation for it.

This is a poor excuse to explain why the islands are being removed and we have no guarantee that we'll see any follow up to it, meaning this little tidbit will be expanded upon. i wouldn't be surprised if they dont.

At least there is some in-game acknowledgement that there use to be an isle of refuge and that people are no longer comming from it. That is leagues ahead of other past content that has been removed (aka origional isle of refuge vs queens colony/overlords daycamp).

It actually could turn into something. About the same chance as the Keeper of Secrets and the Drafling updating too.

It could. I'm certainly not denying it could be the start of a new storyline that will lead somewhere... but if it doesn't.... well...

Considering they took the banker from the islands and put him in as the npc for the druid event? That was a clear oh look, nostalgia ! try not to get upset, we threw you an npc !

More like a kick in the face, but y'know.

It would be the refugee's own choice to decide whether they wanted to travel to Qeynos or Freeport from there.

Tserrin does not equal Tserrina Syl'Tor.

We really don't know if this will lead into anything relating to Velious, or if it's just the poor excuse they wrote up to explain why the islands have been disabled.
