It's not quite that simple. There are some things that are "expected", but your AA build should reflect what you're running with. For a while there I was down the STA line because of a high damaging ranger who needed the hate control and I refused to betray.

So what does your normal group need? Mana? Buffs? You just there and damage?

Now, lots of folks will say it's easy to know what to pick and they are right. If you have 250 AA your personal build will be about 90% similar to most other illies out there.

Things you shouldn't pass up IMO:

Time Compression. It's almost always useful in one way or the other.

Anything that enhances Prismatic Chaos. This is our best damage spell.

Agility Line. It's needed for casting.

Int Line. It is a good damage boost if not maxed out on potency.

What will help you more than copying someone's AA build is figuring out your own. Honestly what AA you want has a lot to do with who you group with and what content you hit- read each AA and weigh it against what spells/abilities you actually use. You can always respec later if an AA build doesn't work out.

Alternately you can copy other people's casting order, other people's AA, and in the end you'll be 1/3 as capable as you should be.

There really is no substitute for reading your own abilities and AA and using them in groups and raid.

The best advice would be to betray and look at the Coercer boards for AA advice.

Or reroll another character altogether.

Illusionists are a waste of time at the moment.
