First, yes I have searched, and yes I know there have been quite a few changes...

Do the wizards have utility beyond teleportation? I know they arent wardens or furies, or Necromancer, but just looking to see what they have (Yes I have seen Wiki) and if it is of use.

Thanks.

Wizards get the following utility:

Teleportation: Nice but not DPS help

Evac - not great cause generaly we are one of the first to die

Flameblade (Ro's Blade ?) - single target melee buff - pretty weak but we cast it cause we have nothing else

Group Str/Int buff - one of the better mage stat buffs, decent but nothing to write home about

Converge - minor hate transfer (4%?) and some mana - there are AAs to increase the hate transfer but even with these it pales in comparison to almost every other hate transfer out there

Elemental resist buff

Frigid Gift / Iceshape combo - all of your groups hostile spells gain a damage proc for about 30s - if used right it can provide a nice boost for enc and summoners in your group who cast much faster than yourself

There is an endline SF AA now that lets Frigid Gift proc off melee combat arts too - decent for instance and pickup groups potentially, not great for raiding as you wont have much melee in your group

We get a single target root, group root, and PBAE snare with a chance to root

Three or so spells have a very short stun associated with them

Group see invis

Overall Frigid Gift / Iceshape is the only real utility we get and the only one that is generally worth discussing

Fendaria

Sounds pretty limited unfortunately.... What I could have sworn wizards had more utility in EQ1...

pretty good list, however im confused by the ae root youre talking about. I think you meant Numbing Cold. Which is a small range (5 m) ae unbreakable 75% snare. Its extremely useful and is an Ancient Teaching spell @ lvl 50. It does have a root factor to it, however that is just a chance if you stick around after landing NC, that if a mob or PC hits you with a melee attack it will root them in place . It lasts about 25 sec.

Updated the post thanks.

About the only time I ever use it is in Leviathan with bombs. I'm sure its a nice escape for PvP though.

Fendaria

Yes, I don't care about utility, I care about DPS...

I can generate a portal after loot, people enjoy it to go and buy a red adorn before coming back to GH for next raid

This is something I've often pondered. Anyone familiar with the D&D concept will see that wizards in this game should be titled Evokers. We're not wizards per se, we're spellflingers. We're Tim from Monty Python. As for utility, its good list, missed the mez, but it really isn't worth mentioning because, honestly, we normally do not get called upon to mez, and if we do, its a dire situation as is. Taking out of combat the wiz for it is hardly worthwhile.
