I went to download the new patch yesterday, using the original EQ2 launcher (not the newer station launcher). It scanned my files, downloaded the very first file, went to decompress that file, then randomly stopped. The download stopped completely. I clicked the "download" button, hoping to continue the process from where it stopped, but the launcher went on a loop everytime I clicked download, only downloading the same file, and stopping. I was able to enter the game via bypassing the launcher and going through my EQ2 directory though, which I did and played successfully.

Later in the evening, I attempted to remedy the problem..I wanted to download the patch files and figure out what the issue was. So, I downloaded the newer Station launcher, but still received the msg: "An unknown error has occured while updating. Station Launcher will try again after 5 seconds". This continued to go on and on. In utter frustration, I decided to COMPLETELY uninstall Everquest 2 off of my computer, thinking there may be some sort of file corruption due to files i downloaded from the test server about a week ago. I turned off my firewall completely, no virus software has been running this entire time btw. I also followed the instructions on how to turn off all start up programs and did so. I uninstalled, then RE-downloaded the Station Launcher and tried to re-download Everquest 2 completely, but STILL get the same error.

Everquest 2 is not on my system at the moment, in any form. No virus programs are running, no start-up programs are running, and my firewall is turned off. Why can't I download EQ2 using the Station launcher? Any help would be appreciated...

Edit: just to add, I'm running the game on Windows XP

I'm having the same issue on three different computers. I have my router firewall at minimum, wireless settings turned off, and I have had only my computers on the network at a one time, in complete isolation.

The patcher is stopping. I have XP and Windows 7, the Windows 7 machine is completely off the network at this time, and my XP computer is STILL failing to patch. the Windows 7 machine is brand new, I just recoevered teh machine from a shutting down issue, and trying to patch the game for the first time. No joy.

Any suggestions?

Other player offered the way to run game correctly,

Find eq2_default.ini,

Kill the line of "cl_resource_address http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com/p...q2/assets/live/",

Then it will work fine again.

This is old bug in Test server, and after patch it come to live server.

So, I completely wiped my computer (upgraded to Windows 7) and am still have the same issue. I lowered my router/modem firewall (2 in 1 combo) down to the lowest setting, forwarded my ports to Everquest 2, set the launcher to run as an administrator. Obviously the problem has to do with my connection, not exactly sure what to do.

I am using the old version of the launch pad as I can not get the new version to install correctly. What you may have to do with the old version is to log in, let it patch completely and once the PLAY icon is lit then you edit and save your eq2_default.ini file. I noticed if i tried to edit before the launcher was ran it would replace the line i removed earlier.
