logged in. mini map and world map not visible

<p>logged in and now ingame World map and mini map only show POI's</p><p>the rest of the map is transparent. its no background. no plains in antonica, no mountains. i just see straight through it.</p><p>anyone know how to fix this?</p><p>i have checked the windowsettings and nothing is wrong there. its like the map itself are missing but the POI's are there.</p>

<p>Greetings,</p><p>I went in game and tried playing with the settings, but I wasn't able to reproduce the kind of thing you're describing.  It sounds like one of the UI files might be corrupted.  You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniIf deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.</p>

<p>it did not fix it.</p><p>the main map is Completly black, only poi's is showing.</p><p>and the minimap is same only its not black its totaly transparent.</p><p>this happend after this morning when i had the same problem</p><p>multiple people had with the launcher giving the eula over and over.</p><p>i fixed that by making it run in windows xp compability mode. i have turned it off now,</p><p>launcher still works as normal but since that episode i cant see the ingame maps <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>ps: talking ingame chat, it seems that more people have this problem atm.</p><p>some people think its a eq2map failure but aperently it's not couse i dont have that installed.</p>

<p>Update of problem, the US servers are no problem, map working fine.</p><p>its seems to only be on the EU servers this are happening.</p><p>after checking the us servers i get now this problem and can not log in at all.</p><p>An error occured communicating with the system. <p>This is definitely starting to seem like a bug of some sort.  One of the GMs just walked over and said that they're receiving reports of this as well.  If you're seeing this issue then please use the /bug command so that we can get some additional information and reproduce/correct the issue on this end.</p>

<p>This happened to me last night, I logged in, accessed the /marketplace, bought my mount and ridden around the guild hall, everything was working and fine.  I use the bell to zone directly out to Antonica and then it all just went black and transparent. </p><p>I tried even installing EQ2Maps, that didn't even fix the problem.  I even restored my computer to a day before and it didn't even work. I even made sure I restored the EQ2.ini to the normal settings and nothing.</p><p>SoE...any update on this...seems more of us new players are experience this.</p>

<p>I am having the same issue. Was fine the last time I played earlier in the week. Haven't been on for several days, now having problems playing the game through launcher and these map issues. (Though I'm on US server, not EU server.)</p>
