<p>If you go here <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_shader">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_shader</a> it lists what cards support which shader version. Basicly most DX9c compliant cards Starting with Nvidia GeForce 6 and 7 series, ATI X1300-X1950 or Intel GMA X3000 . Best to research any of those cards or above to be certain they support it before ya buy.</p>

<p>Thanks for the reply folks.</p><p>im useing a Nvidia 8600 GT 1gig. PCI Express.</p><p>I would like to find a card that is 1gig , pci express and supports the 3.0 shader for EQ2 and doesnt break the wallet like i see alot of the cards that are really nice. another thing is one that doesnt require 500watt power supply im useing a 450 watt right now i beleave.</p><p> When reviewing alot of the cards online , when they have info like OpenGL 3.2 , does that mean it supports the 3.0 Shader?    The current card im looking at is the Radeon HD 5770. does that do 3.0 shader?</p><p><table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tbody><tr><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">GPU</span></em></strong></td><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">Radeon HD 5770</span></em></strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">Core Clock</span></em></strong></td><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">850MHz</span></em></strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">Stream Processors</span></em></strong></td><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">800 Stream Processing Units</span></em></strong></td></tr><tr><td colspan="2"><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">Memory</span></em></strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">Effective Memory Clock</span></em></strong></td><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">1200MHz (4.8Gbps)</span></em></strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">Memory Size</span></em></strong></td><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">1GB</span></em></strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">Memory Interface</span></em></strong></td><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">128-bit</span></em></strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">Memory Type</span></em></strong></td><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">GDDR5</span></em></strong></td></tr><tr><td colspan="2"><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">3D API</span></em></strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">DirectX</span></em></strong></td><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">DirectX 11</span></em></strong></td></tr><tr><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">OpenGL</span></em></strong></td><td><strong><em><span style="font-family: arial black,avant garde;">OpenGL 3.2</span></em></strong></td></tr></tbody></table></p>

<p>For detailed specs on any givin card you should refer to the mfg website for that card.</p><p>That being said OpenGL is a rendering API simular to Direct3D and 3.2 is it's version number (not to be confused with shader version). As your running a 8600 GT thats a DX 10 card (referanced by my link above) and supports the 3.0 spec, as a matter of fact it should support 4.0 so you should be fine . As your looking at the HD 5770 that is falling under the DX 11 and supports the 5.0 spec. All that being said cards are backwards compatible so a 5.0 card will support the 3.0 spec.</p>
